what i remember about this comes from the experience of being a 'potential customer'. i was in college and a couple of VERY CUTE boys came walking around the dorm under the auspices of flirting saying they were from a 'different type of college program' and were off for the year traveling learning about 'business'. this business, of course, being magazine sales.

Those of you who have seen my posts know that i'm always trying to study the intense stuff...but I think everyone needs a break. To that end, i'd like to recommend a book called 'Join Me' by Danny Wallace. It's the true story of a man who started a cult by accident. Mr. wallace placed an advert in a UK paper saying "Wanted: Americans" I require Americans

Hi there. This is an interesting thread. Do you guys think that Cat Stevens fits into this category? Of course, he may not be a cult member, but somehow the 'Morning Has Broken' guy is now an Islamic Fundamentalist. Eeeks.

Hi there, could anyone help me locate background on this group? I have only been able to find a couple of articles doing 'google' searches. I originally found out about them via a ex-COG website, and linked through. Thanks! Cheers, Acacias

Hi Corboy, Thanks so much for all your information. I have decided not to go to to the course, I shall spend the money on some pilates instead...much less insidious...yes? Also, I'm going to take your advice re: posting on craigslist.com to let other people know about the School. Cheers :) Acacias

Hi Corboy: I posted a thank you response to you last night, but it's disappeared. I wanted to thank you for the information. One would think with how much I study these things, I would have researched this more before I enrolled! Oh boy. Anyway, I think I'm going to go anyway, being forewarned as I am as it is bound to be interesting to see just how they skirt the 'socrati

Corboy: I can't thank you enough. I try and research things as much as I possibly can...especially in regards to things concerning anything cult-like, as I've fallen prey before and now and am now concentrating on helping others out! It seems as if I didn't pay myself enough mind, in trying to revamp my brain cells I almost got caught again. Anyway, I think that trying to get

From today's New York Post: July 17, 2003 -- JUST call her "Esther." Pals of Madonna's tell us that the Kabbalah-lovin' singer has instructed her close pals to use her "Jewish" name "Esther" when addressing her. "She is really into it," one friend said. Madonna is so devoted to the sect that she even built a Kaballah center in London earli

26. Amway
You'll find that in addition to cult-like activities of trying to have all Amway distributors think along the same lines, attend so many functions and buy so many tapes that they feel enslaved to the 'business' and subscribe to Amvox where they get "inspirational messages", Amway also sees to it that their "uplines" influence their "downlines" as far a

Thank you for your reply. Some of the articles I read were written so convincingly, I actually started to question what I had always believed had happened (that being, of course, was that Jones was a complete nutter out of control himself yet in total control of all the poor people he conned into the jungle & subsequently killed)

recently i have been reading alternative and most likely unpopular views on what took place over 20 years ago in Jonestown. I think it only right to listen to the other theories that are out here on the web. I would really appreciate what you guys think about the people who believe that what took place in that jungle was a continuation of the US Government MK Ultra program or some right wing si
