Hey one of my friend’s FIL has an autistic child, a soon to be MIL is a Scientologist and telling him autism is imaginary, and he is staring to believe it. What should I do to educate him on the dangers of Scientology before it’s too late? Any good articles that lay out how they operate and destroy lives?

Thank's Corboy! I am compiling an in depth look into this cult to try to get news outlets to look into the whole cult and its effects on individuals, victims as well as its effects on politics since they are very politically active

I am doing an investigation of The Quiverfull Movement and am finding ALOT of pedophila/sexual abuse as pretty much standard in wake of the Duggar scandal. This is what I have so far. I find that this "movement" seems to be specficly talored for pedophiles... unquestionable absolute control given to father, wife completely submits to husband and should not u

This happened to me. I was in a cult and met a member of another nearby cult that our cult was an affiliate with. He did strenuous meditation exercises with me for hours and I just nutted up. My moods swung wildly, first I went into full blown mania saw light surrounding my body and was tingly all over and believed I was the incarnation of Jesus. I felt as if I was floating when I walked. I ran fo

I have done all of those things but I always recognize myself in the mirror. I have hallucinated in the past. I experience the feeling as if I am witnessing myself from outside my body and talking to myself in 3rd person quite often. Sometimes I carry on a 3 sided conversation with myself. I have felt that something fundamental has changed within me since I was in the cult. I used to be very driv

I had a friend that was trying to get me sucked into the new age crap who I loved dearly, but the last straw was when I told him about my mom's illness combined with being stalked and raped several times. He said "your mother needs to examine all this negativity she is attracting to herself". Seriously!! He is blaming a victim of rape for attracting a rapist?!?!?? I was shocked an

Thanks! I added it to my wish list. I needed this years ago. I found out through your archive that the cult I was in was a branch of The Door that changed its name after some exposure. It seems they keep morphing to avoid their crap when it hits the fan.

I know from experience in this area that de-funking yourself is a bit of a journey, but the most powerful weapon against all this is to study theories of logic because in order to fight off all this BS, you have to know how the human mind can deceive ourselves through logical fallacies, then pull yourself out of that thinking. Logic is not natural to us, it something we have to study and teach ou

Thanks, for the advice and the whatstheharm.net is a great resource. I had to let my friend go... I hated that but he got so deep into the blame the victim aspect that I could not stomach it anymore. I did give him the title of the book and left the door open if he wanted to renew our friendship when he let go of that crap. I hated doing that but I had to in order to keep my sanity. The door is

Any group that claims to have special access to some otherwise unobtainable truth has ulterior motives in my opinion. As a cult survivor, this is the same kind of crap the cult leader used on us to lure in those who were in an unsure spot in their lives, thus were more susceptible to mind control. Always beware of someone who claims to have all the answers.
