I think JLo is still a Catholic, but apparently her father has been a Scientologist for a long time. Same here. I even tried to send him a letter asking him about Scientology when I was 16, but I never got a reply. Several years later in college I stopped into a Dianetics center in Albany (again, out of admiration for Chick, Stanly Clarke, etc), but was so turned off by the guy running the center that I never went back. Regarding his wife, Diana J. Mukpa, you are correct, she was 16 or so when she and Trungpa started their relationship. She talks about it in her recent book, "Dragon Thunder" which is about their relationship. He didn't advocate heavy drinking per se - he felt that people tended to be a little more direct and honest after a few drinks. He thought it preferable to using pot/coc
