I joined the 'Church' in 2001 because a friend wanted to study Dianetics and he didn't want to do it alone. You have to sign this amazing 4 or 5 page 'agreement' or contract (I still have it somewhere) that basically says the 'Church' is in total control of your spiritual and psychological well-being in this AND FUTURE lifetimes :-) Under no circumstances

Corboy and Dutch - thanks for the welcome guys. I ~declare~ I am ~being~ a ~stand~ for the ~possibility~ of a group here in London for ex-Landmarker staff and volunteers and those in recovery from Landmark. Maybe someone in the UK will read this and we can get together. In the meantime, I salute this site, afl, freedomofmind and R&R as great places for survivors to hook up and support
