Not a fan of the ROC by any measure of the word, but I have to say that those figures are totally believable. Both are included within the same revenue stream (amounts), though they are listed separately. With donations from Haverty's as an example, that's pure profit on furniture that's almost always close to perfect condition. It's definitely feasible.

Takeastand - I am sorry for what you are going through. Be comforted in knowing that you are not the only person who is dealing with the fallout of manipulation by Geronimo. The important thing now is that you do not talk to the people on this site, or share your information with anyone here, because it will make it back to the ROC (which I am assuming it already has since you've posted h

EA4RAM - You found this website while looking for something as simple as a telephone number, and are still contemplating attendance? What you've read so far should be concerning at the least, especially if your children attend as well. You aren't going to be able to gather "facts" as no one has officially come forward legally with any allegations. If so, this thread wouldn

I've spoken to all of the aforementioned couples at different times since I/they left (except for Gray and Sandra, or Melanie and Ed). None (with the exception of Gary Harvey and Rod and Marsha Jackson) have given clear explanations. They are all great people, and it's been with some hesitation that some of them resisted saying anything, especially when you could tell they wanted to say

That's one thing I've always wondered - why don't people ask about those, namely couples who are heavily involved, that just seem to disappear? Is it not strange to them that all sorts of people just seem to have been spiritually moved to somewhere else? How much is the average cost of a breast augmentation anyway? For an elective surgery which won't be covered by insurance

Or those who work(ed) in the office using the company (yes the Richmond Outreach Center is a corporation) credit card to fill up their personal vehicles. I used to run some of their vehicles to the Raceway gas station when they were still only using the Warwick Rd facilities to fill them up - all of whom did no ministries outside of answering phones in an office (which is a job, not a ministry).

I don't know if I'd say a gang mentality, I don't think that's a fair comparison, but that's my opinion. There definitely is a "lifestyle" there that people get caught up in. That's probably as simply and best I could explain it.

A Pastor being at a ranch for sexual misconduct issues? Haven't heard that one. Drugs, yes. Sex, no. The reason I say no, and don't think that statement is accurate because you even said yourself that sexual sin isn't dealt with at the ROC, or really even confronted. Just trying to figure that one out.

So you would need to tell their new pastor for what reason? I can't foresee a good one, unless they are on the church's payroll - and even then, it's not easy to justify. What you don't know about them is that they left jobs that paid well to become involved with the ministry, and received less than half the pay which other members of the staff made who were single with no

And yes, Jason Helmlinger should've been ousted from marriage counseling long ago. Don't know what kept that one going. Multiple and long-term affairs with women who are not your wife don't speak highly of you being qualified to hand out marital guidance (though I can only assume they'd tell me I was wrong). Personal authority must occur before positional authority should b

They won't encourage education - in fact - the majority of those with deductive reasoning and critical thinking skills are pushed to the fringes, or kicked out. They don't want people who think for themselves to be around those who can't because the leadership are the only ones allowed to plant thoughts in the heads of those at the church, not those who are smart enough to see thro

They do - it's a very small room in the front of the school facing Chamberlayne. There is little to nothing there (there wasn't the last time I was there anyway). The classes they teach (such as New Testament Survey) are done out of a book the teacher holds onto, the students don't get copies. It helps to keep down on confusion, or people reading things and discovering stuff that m

That's a shame about the daycare. What would Jesus do I wonder? Well whatever your writer friend does, he needs to be careful. The ROC is extra paranoid about this site and everything it discusses - why else hire someone to clean your record on the web (which isn't working out, might want to take the gentleman you hired off of retainer and save that money every month)? rocsucs - unfortunately, God is real - he just isn't responsible for making decisions for people - they act on their own accord. So regardless of what positional authority they may hold, in the end, they make the choice themselves as to whether their actions and conduct will fall on the side of good/evil. And I don't think that Gerry thinks like you say he does in the last line - I t

The majority of those who attend the Pastor's School conference are fundamentalists - they do not subscribe to a lot of the "become all things to all people" line of thinking. In part they do, but I think their aim is more that traditionalism has been effective in the past, why not now (which I agree with for the most part)? They probably think it's insulting to God to have Ch

The most unfortunate part about the bus ministry is that the majority of those who participate are mandated to, it isn't voluntary. That affects someone's heart toward something tremendously, and as a result, the impact on the kids likely ends up not giving them the full benefit, or even affecting them negatively. I will say toward the end of working there, I didn't have the best a

Criminal charges in the instance of any sexual misconduct referenced require the victim to step forward, which they have not (or won't - not sure which). I do know that the one in question that is often mentioned in connection to those allegations lives in AZ currently, so it's doubtful anything will be brought to the light "officially". There have been complaints made to
