Like any corporation, I'm sure they have 'think tanks' to try and improve their product - even if it's Werner and his inner circle. What we say here is governed by the rules of this forum. And we're only here to 'keep the bastards honest'. Personally, I'm not impressed by any business that has corridors of 'bullet wound patients in a trauma ward

QuoteThe_TrooperAnyway, in defense of Landmark, I think all the stuff about "always already listening," "looking good," rackets, et. al. all seem to be harmless and good advice. G'day The_Trooper, Harmless and good advice? Well, it is packaged to seem that way. My experiences have revealled quite the opposite. 'Always Already Listening', to me, means not

A little more... I just realised that the actor playing the 'coach' of the LGAT is the same woman who played the 'Borg Queen' in Star Trek: The Next Generation. I can't recall her name, but her face is distinctive. Now, how's that for being subtly obvious! Brilliant! Additionally, one Season 3 episode mentions LGATs (EST, Lifespring, The Plan (Landmark)). The c

And it could be argued that we're a group, a mindset. What sets us apart from 'them'? We can always agree to disagree and then agree to lock it down. Hasn't happened, yet, to my knowledge. And that says something, I guess. Ours is a kind of self-exile (attached to this machine), giving of our 'precious' time (sometimes having to hold one's bladder), being vulner

QuotedrivingthecarExcuse me, sir, but I've been a paid freelance writer on and off for over 10 years (yes, for print publications) and just because someone has a column in the Podunk News doesn't mean they are a great writer or journalist. A good point. And it can only be tempered/improved by knowing your weaknesses. The writing process is, perhaps, the most difficult endevour faced

QuoteskepticWhat is Landmark's purported mission? Yeah, the only thing I'm ever told by the 'inner' circle is 'World Peace'. Their altrustic aim and that of the organisation (and all the money that's invested) is focused on World Peace. World bloody! Peace. Well, strike me down with a dead wombat - who doesn't want world peace? Yeah, who, I wonder, rea

QuoteastrobroI'm afraid that anyone who doesn't think her words add up is doing more interpreting than listening. When you feel strongly about something, it is only reasonable that it will color what you see and hear... I suppose none of us is immune...and who, astrobro, is not listening?

QuoteLaura MarbleI would be grateful if someone would take it upon himself or herself to apologize to my publisher for the encouragement she got from members of this forum to call into question the mental health of one of her employees. That wasn't great for me. Laura, if we live by the sword, we die by the sword. As you have figured out, this forum is about exposing the real dangers of La

G'day cultreporter, First off, I found and copied the post from the above mentioned book (adhering to copyright laws, I hope). When you consider the questions they definitely have a Christian/Buddhist feel to them, ie Jesus/Siddhartha. From the same book, two names are mentioned that would rate highly: Krishnamurti (73%) and Stephen Gaskin from the Tennessee Farm Commune (77%).

Something interesting I discovered in a UK publication, The Book Of Visions: An Encyclopeadia Of Social Innovations. In a section on Spirituality & Cults, there is a topic on how to rate a guru by the Institute for Social Inventions. It is a list of questions that a would-be disciple could ask before joining with a guru or new cult. A 'YES' answer to a question gives a rough-

QuotezeligSeems our brains are hard wired to create mind fiction. Some of the greatest writing is fiction. The difference between good and bad fiction is the writer's understanding of - dare I say it - mythology. I know this sounds simplistic (and it is), but for quality mythology to be retold it has to be relevant to the current audience. It's not a coincidence that most stories seem

QuotemuppetDavid Icke, for all his wild theories, seems harmless, in comparison with some of the subjects of this forum, dont you think? I agree, Muppet. But from my experience, many who agree with Icke's point of view are also into LGATs. In fact, I suspect that like-minded people are attracted to like-minded people - something along the lines of "liars adore other liars", "

Yeah, we're a weird bunch, we humans. I'm sure there was a time when some 'crazy' person tried to convince others of the existance of huge reptillians that once roamed the earth. The difference, of course, is that a concerted effort later produced the bones of dinosaurs. And that's the difference with Icke - he just doesn't have any evidence. Nothing. I'd hat

QuotekathNo-one takes Icke seriously as a 'scholar' or researcher. He often quotes from one book alone the whole way through, or quotes from books which are to varying degrees works of fiction. G'day Kath, Excuse the cliche, but the proof is in the pudding. I agree that Icke cannot be taken seriously with regard to his research abilities. When I mention someone like Barbara W

QuoteRama Das (slave name)You speak as if the things in his books are just pure fiction, like he completely invented all of it. He probably did. And he's entitled to his imagination. The same can be said of most doctrine pretending to be truth. But what is truth? Pure subjectivity, if you ask me. For example, study the origins of the Holy Bible and you'll find that it is no more the w

Maybe Icke should just do a Dan Brown and then let Hollywood run with the ball. I get very frustrated when seemingly intelligent people abuse their imaginations for personal gain (IMO). To me, David Icke is like so many crazy-intelligent people, i.e. Hubbard, Hitler, my father, etc. It seems their agenda is about exercising their madness at any cost. But just in case I'm wrong, I'll

A rough synopsis (for season 2) without spoiling the fun: The fun starts with episode 2 'Out, Out Brief Candle' when Ruth Fisher is told by a work friend (Robbie) about a unique seminar for self-awareness called The Plan. Episode 3 'The Plan' shows Ruth becoming a paid-up member and here the audience (us) get a shock at how similar it is to Landmark. They have their own

G'day All, Recently I was 'blown away' with HBO's fantastic series Six Feet Under. With regard to Landmark and other LGATs, this series (season 2) did an interesting dramatisation of this phenomena over several episodes. Yes, it's kind of light hearted, but its handling of the material, like so much of this series, is honest and powerful. So, if you're interest

G'day All, From my experience, Landmark is a self-defeating ideology and, like a boat with a leak, it will sink. And although the passengers will stay afloat in their Landmark lifejackets for some time, eventually they'll run out of breath and go down with their boat. I don't want my metaphor to sound too fatalistic, but it does seem that way sometimes because those who take the
