QuoteJack Oskar Larm It seems they (or Vera) can just pick and choose traits and meaning for their interpretation of Satan. On one hand, there seems to be emphasis on the Prince of Darkness being the Bringer of Light, as in the Christian tradition; but there's also reference to Set (Egyptian) and Pan (Celtic). And then you have the quote above stating that it adheres to none of these. And ye

Let's stick to mocking the Joy of Satan lol :D There's plenty there to be getting on with to critique :) Diane Vera has some good essays explaining theistic satanism with articles for those from other faiths- christianity, paganism etc. Actually an intelligent site about Satanism  I would recommend it if you want to learn more. She mocks the JoS too and is concerned by th

I don't think quoting people who use an alias would be disregarded. Journalists often interview victims of abuse under an alias or with their faces obscured.

I don't think any weekend's teaching can physically effect the brain in any significant way. Give it time and the brain will return to how it was before. I don't mean that LGATs aren't harmful, but mercifully nothing is permanently damaged in the (physical) brain, given time (and/or counselling) it will heal. Maybe if children are brought up in a cult, they will seem

As to which Satan, think the Hammer Horror version combined with E.T. due to their belief that Satan is an extraterrestrial or something :?

QuoteValtold me recently that she would leave her job and our relation to spend at least one year there again, possibly longer. - If she is going to spend a year there and leave her current life, that's nothing to do with a relationship naturally breaking up, it does sound more like excessive devotion to a particular spiritual practice/teacher.

An ethical therapist would never have an affair with a client  If he is a member of any kind of EFT therapist's organisation even a New Agey one, they might throw him out for this. So see if he advertises himself as a member of any organisation, they might discipline him. Anyway, it's worth complaining to his organisation as it would then be on record if he ever did it agai

I saw a counsellor one-to-one that used some elements of Gestalt therapy and found it very helpful. However it should be remembered that Gestalt began with the 'encounter groups' at Esalen and these were the inspiration for some Large Group Awareness Trainings. Also Fritz Perls, the founder of Gestalt, was said to have been quite cruel on occasion. It looks like you have the tw

QuoteadmmreFrom what I gather, their belief is that Christ was created, and not always. I think they have a good point, and I'm not even sure if it goes against the trinitarian belief. Hope someone sheds a bit of light on this one. Adam Yes it does contradict trinitarian belief, because Arians believe Christ was created by God the Father. That is, God the Father is superior to the s

Alpha began in the evangelical/charismatic element of the Anglican church . It was certainly seen as an initiative of part of the Church of England when I was slightly involved in that movement in 1998. The lady I knew who was a fan of Holy Trinity Brompton/Nick showed me the videos of the Alpha course (I think these were given to me by my Church of England vicar in the midlands of the UK so

I think what was trying to be communicated by the picture above is that some members of the JoS are puppets controlled by the leader, also they end up all the same, parroting her beliefs. The three criteria are: A charismatic leader, who increasingly becomes an object of worship as the general principles that may have originally sustained the group lose power. The self-proclaimed "
