Mike Gabbard was accepted into the Democratic Party of Hawaii today. U.S. Senator Dan Akaka was at the press conference with Democratic Party of Hawaii leaders. Senator Akaka said: "I look upon him as a caring person, one who cares about people. So he has joined the "people's party." I look upon the Democratic Party as one that tries hard to serve

Thinking about Mike Gabbard and his possible joining of the Democratic Party of Hawaii, an old quote about hate came to my mind: Quote"Let a wave of intolerance wash over you. I want you to let a wave of hatred wash over you. Yes, hate is good.... If a Christian voted for Clinton, he sinned against God. It's that simple.... Our goal is a Christian Nation... we have a biblical dut

Does anybody have any ideas how the Science of Identity cult, a church, might get money to Mike Gabbard, and perhaps others? Mike Gabbard claims to be a "successful small businessman." But a look at his businesses doesn't show much success. Gabbard put out a music CD "Stand As One." It doesn't seem to have been a very big hit. You don'

According to the papers, Gabbard is still thinking about becoming a Democrat. It turns out that the Democratic Party of Hawaii has no control over who signs up to be a Democrat. Just about anyone who can qualify to be a voter in Hawaii can fill out a form to become a member of the Democratic Party. At some point he may be asked to support the Democratic Party of Hawaii platform. That coul

QuotecultreporterBig and scary news indeed. How does this work when he is serving as a republican senator? He would just switch parties and then have more ability to change laws? I'm not sure if he could switch parties and still keep his State Senate seat. I should be able to find out later today. If he could do that, he would have a much better chance of introducing and influenci

This is big, and scary, news. Mike Gabbard wants to become a Democrat. Currently he is a Republican Hawaii State Senator. The Republicans are a tiny minority in both houses of the state legislature. That's got to be really limiting Mike Gabbard and his (and Chris Butler's) agenda. Mike would like to be a nationally and internationally known and recognized anti gay and anti abor

Mark Fergusson is CEO of "Down to Earth Natural Foods and Lifestyle." At least that is how he labels himself in a letter to the editor of the Honolulu Advertiser 07/20/07: You can contact him at: There was a time when he was CEO of "Healthy's Inc," which is the parent company of the Down to Earth Stores. I'd say that Mr. Fergusson i

I don't want to get into a lengthy defense of using fluoride in water. There is a lot of good, scientific information on the American Dental Association website at: In Europe, some of the countries fluoridate table salt instead of fluoridating water. It is important to understand that all naturally occurring water contains fluoride. Much of the information, especially the alar

Most people familiar with the Science of Identity Foundation know of its member's political activism in the area of opposition to lesbian and gay rights. Some would know about their anti abortion positions and activism. People keeping an eye on SIF are probably less familiar with its efforts and success in fighting fluoridation of drinking water in Hawaii. As background, readers shoul

I've been discovering quotes from Jagad Guru and links to Science of Identity webpages on Craig's List. I've found them on Craig's List Vienna, Craig's List Budapest, Craig's List Los Angeles, Craig's List Buenos Aires and even in the San Francisco Bay Area, Craig's List "Upper Market/Castro Street." Some of these postings are gone now. H

I was interested in reading the recent posts about Vrindavan Gabbard, who, I think, is Mike Gabbard's youngest child. I managed to find her listed on those Prabhu Das recordings. Thanks for the information. If you do a Google search on "Vrindavan Gabbard" a Vrindavan Gabbard who is affiliated with John Jay College comes up. I wouldn't be surprised if that is our cult-a

In last week's issue of Honolulu Weekly, editor Chris Haire reviews Chris Butler's "Dear Fanatic, Take It Easy" song. In his article he lists the website. The article mentions the connections between Chris Butler and Mike Gabbard and also mentions Down to Earth. It doesn't point out the irony of Chris Butler calling anyone else a "fanatic." Th

I think that Science of Identity Foundation's homophobia and anti abortion activism comes from the teaching that "sex is for procreation only." Think about it. This is similar to Roman Catholic teaching and may be why Mike Gabbard considers himself a Catholic now. And why Mike Gabbard is comfortable with the Roman Catholic Church, after all those years with Siddha. If &q

I keep meaning to spend a lot of time going through all the posts, but there sure is a lot of stuff! Someone, a while back, was wondering if ISKCON is still out there selling books and trying to recruit members on the streets. In Waikiki, the answer is: "Yes." There are recruiters/solicitors on Kalakaua Ave in Waikiki, the main drag most of the day and just about every day of th

Sorry that I haven't been writing much. I have had some trouble getting in to the forum. I just did a search on YouTube of "Jagad Guru" and a song by Chris Butler comes up: Dear Fanatic, Take It Easy. I've been reading the discussion about business name registrations and Wai Lana Yoga's tax exemption, etc. Very interesting. For quite awhile the Wai Lana Yoga products were sold with the address of a PO Box in Malibu on them. I think the business names of "Wai Lana Yoga" or "Gold Moon Productions" were used on these products. Lately, I have been noticing Wai

From watching "Jagad Guru Speaks," it is pretty clear to me that Chris Butler considers himself to be the equal of Jesus. Butler clearly considers himself to be a spiritual representative of God and he also considers Jesus to be just a spiritual representative of God. I've been going through my notes. I definitely have a Siddha devotee stating that "Jesus is not God."

Yesterday I went to the Hawaii State Library in Honolulu and took out a copy of Dr. Willis Butler's book: "Barbara: Memoir of a Love Affair." (Published by AuthorHouse, 2006. ISBN 1-4208-6091-7 (sc) I can tell you that this book is going to be of interest to anyone who is studying this cult. Interestingly, in the book, Will Butler sometimes spells his youngest son's

Quotecultreporter Could you give us any idea about recruitment through DTE? It was posted on the forum quite a while ago that they have 'lifestyle centres' attatched to the stores. Do they run 'meditation' classes or similar activities or distribute Siddha's teachings? I've been reading in this forum about DTE recruitment through "lifestyle centres."

From posts that I have read elsewhere on the internet, it appears that before "Independents for Godly Government," and before the crusade against homosexuality, Mr. Butler and his devotees were campaigning against abortion. And even now, Mike Gabbard is a regular participant and sometimes speaker at Honolulu's annual "March for Life" in January. It appears to me tha

I've been reading this topic and find it very interesting. I have been interested in cults and/or odd religions for some time. Long ago, in a large city on the East Coast I used to enjoy listening to the Hare Krishnas chanting in the business district. The Hare Krishnas used to give out little chick pea balls. They were delicious! They used to invite me to come and dance with them
