After - another - day of crying and griefing about my lost lifetime due to my naivity to believe Ole Nydahls „teaching“ , all the confusion I experiencied due to my trust in his weird buddhist ideas, the stressful dogmas and imposed personality cult spread by his devotees, all the hours in his most boring and disturbed groups for nothing, all the time I lost because I was stucked in this destruc

Lol, Oles home-style made tantra practise: parachuting. :D That was at least exciting…! ;) When I look back Ole Nyahl was not the biggest problem for me: OK, I did not like his patriachal macho style and his talks were confusing, also he could not answer any of my questions in a helpful way- but the most disturbing experience for me were his students. Such toxic group dynamics, throwing people

I do not know who is fully realized and who is not. But you do not need it to explain the difference between Mahayana und Vajrayana- where is the origin and what way is useful for whom. I remember the confusing fairytales about it spread in DW.

Here is a link to shamarpa‘s teaching about Mahayana and Vajrayana, the origin and how it should be practised. I found it very interesting- it is quite different to what you hear in DW(…)

I found it always really disturbing to see the picture of Mr. Nydahl in the same height as the 17th Karmapa above the altar. He does not belong there as he his no genuine teacher nor a yogi nor another kind of realized being. For me Mr. Nydahl is a narcissistic faker and his imitators can have his picture next to their bed or in their wallet if they wish.

I agree with you Maryjane. I find it very unhealthy to lock up those feelings inside. It brings back my power to speak out- and it breaks the spell of the Nydahlists.

We should not get against each other here, we are on the same side. I personally am here to free myself from the Nydahl- Movement and their beliefs that I adopted. And part of this is definetly to be emotional. To break their dogmas and taboos about their guru. I am not here to perform the „ good buddhist“. I do not consider myself buddhist anymore anyway. I can not stand anything con

I wish him a rebirth as a „no name“ in the hell of his cult, preferably close to some of these disturbed persons of his shitocraty we had to bear. Enjoy!

I can fully understand Maryjanes anger and pain. Believing O.N. Talks has brought a lot of pain and heavy confusion in my life too- for years.I am still fighting for my way back into normal life. I can understand her 100%. To be honest, secretly I have wished many times to have never meet him, to have never listened to him and especially to never listen or open up to his devotees. To trust

Thanks for posting this. I find it disturbing to see him used as a kind of stage prop for the fashion show of his wife. Happy to read the comment of the Danish guy:“ Let him have his peace, stop exposing him.“

I would not waste my time with quotes of self- invented teachers who follow the scheme of their idol ( I refer to the second quote) In case you want more of his enlightening teachings (lol) here is his website: This guy has his own website about buddhism where he publishes his own teachings. I recommend the „short“ indroduction „about me“. It is such a proof of egoless“ness“!!! Lol If

I would like to withdraw my previous statement, it sounds way too naiv for me now.I am very ambivalent about the website that published the offer/ link to this ex DW group. I think people should be carefull.

Maybe this lady is an ex Ole student who changed to Thich Nhat Hanh and is trying to give a helping hand by applying Thich Nhat Hanh teachings to troubled Ole students… It is just my personal suggestion, but knowing a bit of Thays teachings, like careful compassionate communication techniques, it would make sense. Maybe she can help somebody, why not?

This is a really irritating offer. The text on the webpage is typical DW/ Ole Nydahl language. I did some quick research: The contact info on the page names a lady who is part of the Thich Nath Hanh Intersein Sangha Rosenheim. What is this???

I think they shared the cake already within the organisation over the last years. And I guess they will do everthing to keep up their Nydahlism universe, they will cling together. That is what they were always practising instead of buddhism.Maybe a funny religion will develop from it, with rituals where a junior protector and a beautiful woman will unite in front of the altar…:D

I wouldn‘t consider it bad luck or bad karma- I consider it a huge step on the way. A situation we met only due to our unconscious choices and patterns and by getting through it and looking at those patterns, we remove a lot of confusion and hindrances. This experience helps us to make better choices and to find a way in life or spirituality that fits better. It is a huge, life shifting experienc

Letif, I could get it. Yes, this talk about karma and cleaning bad karma bla bla- these are typical DW standard phrases and they apply it to everything and everybody. These things are difficult to get off one‘s mind. I remember a teaching of karma by Karmapa on his Insta account…was completely different. Maybe you still find it there. The Nydahl karma idea reminded me a lot of the co

These are really interesting information, thank you Kawa Lhundrub. I wish, I would have known this 20 yrs ago. I thought that the appearance of the tibetan rinpoches on DW courses were a recognition of O.N.‘s spiritual authority. Letif, good to hear that you are better now! I am so sorry to hear about these two people. The Nydahlists are cold as stone: „ Highest truth is highest bliss“ and the

I would be surprised if any of the tibetan teachers would clear things or adress grievances in the DW.I do not believe that they will get involved, they let things „naturally“work out. I lost my trust in tibetan buddhism, I do not believe that they are here to „ help“ westerners. They are looking for possibilites to settle here in the west, they are refugees. It is a massive organisation that

I think she was brave though I would wish that she would have been clearer in some points, I found it a bit confusing. ( f.e. I never experienced that we should/ would use the refuge name - and the other tibetan words for meditation room might sound strange but did not make the cult feeling for me.) I do not think you find much Dharma in DW centres- how could you? The leading people there have

Hi everybody, When I saw the pictures of the Nydahl family it struck me that are kind of similar to typical Karmapa family pictures. Anne and her daughter dressed in similar colors, one time Anne wearing an asian style dress. The expression of deep affection to her child… To me this appears to be a consciously and carefully set in scene public appearance giving the world the picture of the l

He appeared on some photos of Karmapa‘s instagram posts. Looked very weak and confused. I do not think that the Nydahlists have to go to hell- for me they are already in it.His organisation is a nightmare. Being secretly very doubtful about the holy Ole while I was in DW, I felt like being secretly jewish during upcoming National Socialism. So, I definetly share the image you are using here. Lu

I think the term „ spiritual bypassing“ might be what we are talking about here. I also find it difficult to draw a line between a healthy distance to problems and avoiding to deal with them completely on basis of spiritual ideas. It does not make sense to me to apply the nondualistic level to problems in the dualistic world, in which we are living most of the time. And it took me years

Hi Letif, Verena Koenigs work is very helpful. When I was on O.N. Courses or in his centers I often felt like being surrounded by a sort of „zombies“ not normal empathic people. I felt unsafe there and my nervous system was always on high alert.

Hi letif, It took me months or a year and I almost worked myself through this whole thread before I dared to post something. It was awful to notice how consistent the influence and doctrines I heard in the DW still are. The word „ deprogramming from a cult“ makes deep sense to me. It always helps me to read about the stories of other Ex- DWs, thank you for sharing.

Yes that is the core lesson: to reflect oneself and find and disolve the patterns that lead into this. I was always too much in good faith and did not trust my own perception. Plus this buckling of authorities. Too much faith in the general goodness of buddhism… I would agree 100% with your analysis of the life of devotees of DW. That is why they are so triggered if anyone critizes O.N.- it sh

I saw it too- and put it in the garbage like his books. The superficial, big mouth style of his writing makes me sick and embarrassed. Nothing touches me or transmits to me, when Iread them. All what was left is a huge questionmark. I hope that the transmission video might open people’s eyes before they drop into the organisation. It is not so easy to find, maybe they tried to remove it f
