QuotedabcultFROM THE CHRISTIAN NEWS WEB SITE Former presidential candidate Rick Santorum, a Catholic, also made comments earlier this year that Gabbard’s religion “doesn’t align with the constitutional foundation of the U.S. government.” “It is stunning that some people in Congress would so arrogantly thumb their nose at the Bill of Rights,” Gabbard wrote in response in a statement to the me

You know its been a real long time and the memory is not what it used to be. Its difficult to remember dates too but I remember the Rainbow Bridge gathering was taking place but was on another Island. I vaguely remember Sai talking about Jimi Hendrix and that he was going to hell for putting his face over the vishnu god. Most of my association was at the hut, with a little time on K

Timothy Leary and Sai Young together at the Hut First I want to say something about hinduism in America because it is important to know how it fits into the scheme of things and how the image of the hare krishnas has changed as time goes by. Back in the late 60s and up to the middle 70s the hindu religion was not popular in the west. Back then there were NO hindu temples anywhere in A

QuoteVera CityGreat find FLASH! alaphusihs Thanks for sharing your memories. All the Sai followers spoke of his supposed mystical powers. But others discovered as you did, that he was clueless and had no idea of what his followers did or did not do. One report is that Tusta used to drink Orange Julius all the time which contained egg powder and you had to get them at the Mall - a

QuotecorboyQuote Gotta wonder. Is it possible that Sai/Butler was following the dietary rules he required for followers? Can't imagine how he could keep his strength up enough to monitor the group, and function at high capacity as a surfer. Muscle strength, muscle mass and immune function are all compromised if one does not eat enough protein. If Sai continued to be an expert

Thanks a lot Flash I was about to reveal my identity. That article really woke up my memory. I remember them all talking about the reporter. I had been out foraging for food and came back after she left. Everyone was buzzing about it and how Sai was going to become famous and change public opinion about the chanters. When the article came out Sai was upset and said they they didn’t come for

Quoterrmoderatoralapuhsihs: This page is not about meat eating and BBQ. Nor is it about what's wrong with Hinduism. This thread is about Chris Butler and his group Science of Identity. Please stay on topic. If a post is off topic it will not be approved through moderation. I stand corrected. But I thought it was relevant that I rejected a lifestyle so completely opposite to

I was a hippie in a daze in the old days, just looking for bite to eat, a place to pass stool (other than the woods or local gas station) and a dry place to rest my head. I was a prime recruit. Its understandable he was able to get a hook in me. But now he seems to be attracting your mainstream people. I know a bit about yoga, first some excercises then brainwashing mantras before you know it t

Welcome to the forums. Glad you could find us as I hope more former and current members do. Katyayani has had some success as a vegetarian chef, becoming somewhat of a minor celebrity at one point in the vegetarian world, with her cookbooks. Last I heard she was playing guru with her own herd of followers, after taking notes from Chris for a number of years and decided she too wanted the good

Hey Dabcult, yea I remember but it has been a long time. You know you have to be careful with yoga. You never know what you will get. I got out before it was too late. They almost had me brainwashed. It looks like now they changed tactics. We were all hippies and surf bums but now Chris is going for the big time. I remember I got some illnesses and they tried to heal me with herbs and natural med

Hey I am amazed to have found this forum. I was around in the early days but could not follow for long. I was young and experimenting with alternate lifestyles. I will admit Siddha helped me to sober up and get off pot, lsd and liqueur. But once sober I realized that yoga lifestyle was not for me and I wondered how I ended up following a guru and a blue god. I returned to a normal life
