It seems they have indeed canceled her, yet still express a lot of doubt about the truth of the accusations. I wonder how many people need to come to them with stories for them to feel confident about their veracity. It brings to mind Bill Coaby and the women who came forth against him. If it was “only 10” (or at this point, I think it may be at least 15 or 20) people who have come forth saying a

And Corboy you bring up the other important issue from that article, how institutions handle this kind of thing. From what I saw, Yoga Barn management did have some concerns about the whole Uma thing. They did respond and fire Uma when complaints were received, but then blamed and shamed victims out the other side of their mouths at the same time (actually I’m not sure about “they”—-from what i u

I too feel sick from all the deflections and outright lies being told by her supporters. Like, verifiable lies but THEY CANT SEE IT. It’s infuriating and when i can take enough distance from it (rare), kind of funny. And also really sad. Good for you, wts, taking care of your nervous system. So important. It may also bring some relief to hear that she has been canceled from the No Mind Fe

Also, jh, wow to what you posted. Really highlights the whole process of induction perfectly. And Corboy, spot on when you say “ If former disciples have revealed highly sensitive information about themselves to Uma, could this possibly contribute to lingering anxiety, even terror after they have severed all social contact with Uma?“ I know that they exposed some of this information on th

I think you hit the nail on the head, wts, that “Uma is the biggest FalseID of all.” Also of note is that she welcomed doubt, hate, skepticism, criticism, etc...as long as it didn’t get too close to poking at that FalseID of hers. Then it would be labeled as “unclean,” projection, the student’s own inner workings being projected on to her “clear mirror,” etc. Classic narcissistic deflection t

Ugh, that sounds exactly what it was like around Uma! Different flavor but same idea. And we all know what happened with Andrew Cohen...

Corboy, my experience of her recruiting is... she teaches yoga & offers Ayurvedic consultations. She is powerful, extremely charismatic, has a LOT of energy, and does "intriguing" (depending on your perspective) things such as shaking, hissing, growling, convulsing. She love-bombs HARD. Many of the people who stood up so strongly for her on the FACT expose were, in my opinion, no

Well, definitely sounds familiar, and I completely understand not wanting to possibly expose your identity...understand that very very well. I hope you weren't too harmed in the process, and that you were able to get out before getting too "in."

Wts, you clearly have some personal experience with Uma. Would you be willing to share some of what that experience is? I know FACT is also still collecting anonymous testimonies (good or bad) of her, as well, if you’d prefer to share it there. But I’d be really curious to know what you witnessed and felt with her.

I really pick up on what you say here about "self-correlated mythology." I've checked out her personal Facebook page a few times and man is it dramatic how much she is mythologizing herself, and maintaining that she is the center of the "Truth." It's interesting the cult members are no longer responding to the FACT threads. What do you think about that? FACT just

Part 2 of the exposé is here: And then FACT shared this statement from the victims: We at FACT post this statement on behalf of several of the victims who wrote to our organization regarding Uma Inder: "We choose to remain anonymous because of concerns for our safety, for our mental health, and of blackmail. We have an enormous amount evidence backing up every single one of

From their Facebook post...and then there's lots more in the full exposé in the link below: THE UMA INDER EXPOSE Our non-profit organization received numerous complaints about the yogi guru known as Uma Inder (a.k.a Umaa) located in Ubud, Bali. Ex-students of Inder’s contacted our office with very serious allegations, claiming that she manipulates, exploits and abuses students in vario

Lb, you continue to place responsibility for my experience on only me, not understanding that this was a co-created dynamic, absolutely and completely fostered by the culture that Uma created (& demanded) around herself, and that I bought into. She did actually say she is Truth. And Nature itself. And Kundalini. And Kali. And Death itself. And Source. I am not making those up. And she

Oh, and I hear you about her being willing to see any perspective. I saw that, too, in fact she is masterful about that. EXCEPT when it's a view that is genuinely and intelligently critical of her. Other words that came to mind that she's used to describe students: rank, lame, foul, swine, dog. I'll keep em coming as they come to me. And I hear you saying that simply bei

By the way, I have been reading the FB page, and I have absolutely no idea who Phoenix086 is. I had no idea he (I'm guessing it's a he but who knows) had the "real name" so close to the one I chose. Sheer, actual coincidence. Again you guys are making so many assumptions. Also I may bow out of reading or responding to all of this. It is genuinely triggering to my PTSD whic

I hear that you are attempting to bring some love and understanding to this conversation, Lb. And I'm sorry that, despite your request, I still dismiss you as a cult follower. The reason is because I know what it's like. I stood there in that place where Uma could do no wrong--after all, she was Truth itself. Her words, assimilated and taken as dogma by me. I know what it's lik

Oh, and I think it's a little funny and a little sad that you really think that everything negative that is written about Uma is by one person, as if its inconceivable that anyone else could come away with a negative experience. Wake up and see the other side.

Good lord. Who let the cult members in here?? "exposure is happening on FB," if you mean that those who drank the koolaid are waxing poetic and making ridiculous assumptions about who I am, then yeah, sure. "Exposure is happening." Oh wow, I know this woman. I'm glad and not surprised to see that she's turned up here on this forum. It seemed like only a matter of time before people started to see that something was amiss with her. I studied with her for a time. I'm not going to say when or how long, that's how paranoid I am about being "found out," by her or one of her followers. But I got
