dabcult: You have confused, among other things, Sachiananda (younger Asian woman) with Siddhananda (Caucasian ~ 54 ~ long hair) I have to be honest, I asked if the moderator would consider removing you from this thread. It is clear you are not a grounded individual and your presence is dragging this thread down imho. Of course it is the moderator's call in the end.

CELIBACY: And just as eating meat is not the norm in India or even within kundalini traditions, nor is celibacy and sannyas. The tantric tradition is all about doing away with castes and welcomes the householder (as they call family life in India). Many of the respected Gurus were householders and many of them were known to be sexually active. For the most part, there was no higher or lower o

EATING MEAT: She quotes Swami Vivekananda in a recent video, in a condescending voice, as if it was the word of God. "There was a time in this very India when, without eating meat, a Brahmin could not be a Brahmin" First of all, Vivekananda is but one voice on the subject, and does not in fact represent the majority voice on this subject in India. Secondly, she rails against the old

Christine: Anyone can spout spiritual teachings, scriptures, self-help 101.... The question is, does she walk the walk too? Based on things shared in this thread, her many videos, websites etc - I would say no. And as far as the money, sorry to burst your bubble but it's easy to be generous when you have a sugar daddy that pays for everything. If your time with her helped you, great. B

psyborgue: Feel free to make videos. But keep in mind, this woman is clearly not rational. Maybe it's stubborn denial, or a refusal to connect the dots, or even an inability to grasp what is being said? Maybe it's effects of earlier traumas, of which there have been many according to her; a kind of lingering PTSD if you will. Or the enlightened Guru persona fullfills some need fo

So from what I can gather, "Swami-G" took sannyas initiation in India after her meeting with her Guru Sri Rajivji who told her she was enlightened and should go off and be a Guru. She or close students can clarify or elaborate if this is not accurate. My question is the following: Why did she take sannyas if she was already enlightened? And then why did she go ahead and break severa

I have to say your actions are feeding into the kind of claims she and others have made about this forum. Mind you, I didn't see any PMs that may have been exchanged other than the one Rehl sent me. I think had he posted something similar agai

To Guru G (or close students) On the subject of Sannyas: Approx. when did she receive sannyas in India? Approx. when did she spend time with Sri Rajiv? Does she claim that he was/is a fully Realised SatGuru? And that he specifically told her that she was fully Realised, and that she should go out on her own and assume the role of SatGuru with his full blessings? I would have some foll

You are now preaching beliefs, which is against the rules that you agreed to before posting at this message board. Seems more like stating his persona

Must admit, she has an interesting take on this site considering what she has going on her end. She says in a nutshell that this site-thread is bias and closed off. But she and her students can and have posted here, and for the most part have not been censored-deleted etc; On her end, however, she totally controls the show. People who disagree, speak up, question - basically anything she does

Well, looks like yet another high profile "Guru" bites the dust. Andrew Cohen, Mr. Spiritual Evolution obsession man, has been booted from the very group he started decades ago. Better late than never. Maybe this "Guru" should take a page from his play book? In several videos, she mentions how she could easily just stop teaching and go off and enjoy her enlightenment.

corboy) Nice detective work, but could it be that I'm not an apologist or student of this woman, as I said in the first place? And that I am now simply asking some valid questions because I happen to think she should not be doing this counseling stuff? So......can anyone answer my original questions here? See my last post for details. Thank-you

Has anyone verified if this woman actually has a legitimate not for profit setup somewhere in the US? And does she get around the license question because of this nfp and possibly exceptions to the rules for religious purposes (ie. priests, pastors etc) What are the details on this? Are there exceptions like this, is she hiding behind that, and if so, can she do so based on what she is offerin

Siddha yoga is everything that is wrong with Indian Guru-centered traditions come to the West. Muktananda was a charismatic renunciate who clearly had a pwoerful way about him, but became involved in sexual conduct, had temper tantrums, visions of grandeur, and spawned 2 equally suspicious lineage heirs - Nityananda and Gurumayi - the latter kicking the former out forcefully and continuing on wit

Correction. This path appears to be primarily advaita with a hindu tantra flavor - some Buddhist tantra - but they are so interwoven anyway - so no surprises there.

Wow Corboy - you are really pouring a lot of time and energy into this Guru - almost seems like you are an ex-student with a grudge - or perhaps would really like to believe in the Guru. hmm As for your Hindu and Mahayana comments - this path appears to be primarily Hindu tantra with a little Tibetan tantra mixed in - and it's not unusual to see snippets from both as they are very similar

Dear Corboy, Allow me to explain the function/role/nature of the Guru from within the tradition perspective. You may reject the whole thing outright, but at least you and others will know where teachers and students from within these traditions are coming from. In the Indian tradition, the Guru is a realised being -- one who has realised their true nature - that non-dual consciousness beyond

Yes quite sure. I am interested in the subject. I am not an apologist for this Guru. Simply put, I have seen and been involved with many ashrams, teachers, over the years in India, Nepal, US, etc; I have extensive experience both academically and practically. Let me tell you this, this teacher appears to be fine. You want to talk cults - show me money scandals, sex scandals, outlandish fees

Really. Nailed it you say. Let's take a closer look. Actually, the burden of proof is on Guru SwamiG who has made numerous assertions regarding what she teaches with no evidence at all to back the validity of those assertions. From the standpoint of a realised teacher, teachings are not assertions requiring evidence, they are experienced truths and the student is encouraged simply to se

As I have said elsewhere, it is good sign that this teacher is not only openly public about her past, something very rare among teachers, but also explains that she had been testing the waters and moved on due to their problems. Everyone has a past, and if they learn from those experiences, and acknowledge the whole picture, this is quite encouraging. As far as whether this teacher is a fully rea

I am not a student, but wanted to respomd in general terms to some points you make. The group is personality-driven, which is the single most salient characteristic of groups called "cults." Most spiritual groups have a main teacher. If that makes it a cult, then all such groups are cults. Not a very open-minded position I feel. Swami G provides no meaningful financial transparency

Am not a student, but do feel that the burden of proof is on you, not them, to provide sensible evidence against. There is no argument in calling the videos inane. To who? To you? In what way? In what way are they "harmful" to unsuspecting people. and who are these people? In what way does a video take away their ability to think for themselves? This site should not be about casting a g
