Someone who remembers CH from Mt Albert Grammar School, Auckland, in 1974 has left a post on www.lizziejanecochran@wordpress.com (May 10th.)

Jah, there have been a lot of people, myself included, who have believed in and defended this man at various times throughout his long career of damage. This does not mean they are untrustworthy or dishonourable (or, I might add, stupid and deluded as this seems to be a common self-accusation), merely that he is very, very good at getting people on side - for a while. I don't think that crit

Okay. I will rack my memory. There wasn't really much evidence of anything. As I recall he appeared to know a bit about massage and reflexology pressure points. As I said a lot of people did around then. Whether the knowledge was accurate I had no way of telling. Most of it was just talk about "healing" - which seemed to include just making a person feel good, or happy; he once int

Well, I had hoped my initial testimony might help to level a case of fraud as you say, but maybe the RR forum is a bit of an insular community. I read the Liz Hancock article in 2002 and was astonished to say the least; I saw the discrepancies with what I knew but I let it go since (a) I didn't know him for very long and certainly didn't have his whole life-story which he was evasive ab

Gita, I can categorically state that Christopher Hansard's account of his Tibetan medical training in NZ is a complete fabrication. If it were true, he would have been in the last stages of his training at the time I knew him, when he evinced absolutely no knowledge whatsoever of the subject, or indeed any interest. What he knew about medicine was just a bit of the complementary/New Age s

Thank you Gita for redirecting this thread back to its proper purpose. Also, for members of this forum who have been put off UK Skeptics by the veritable holocaust they seem to raise of name-calling and infantile insults, Phurba has presented there a very clear, compelling and disturbing account of Christopher Hansard's recent activities.

Well, Pema, that is what I meant by misappropriation of culture and bogusness. My point was that there has recently been a focus in this forum on grappling between two differently disseminated forms of misappropriated culture, which seems a bit irrelevant to the cause at hand.

Okay, this is basically an exercise in teaching your grandmother to suck eggs and those who hold the Tibetan concern dear- such as Jeff Bowe whose learning on the subject is much greater than mine- please don't get worked up, but I just want to say I am heartily sick of this whole Tibetan argument. Really, whether promoted by Christopher Hansard or Tibetanway or any other western organisatio

Atlantic - following the link that thewayishere posted I got the email address alternatives@richardlawrence.co.uk - as this link was in an article from 2000 one can't tell if it's still viable.

With the renewed surge of energy on this forum created by mariac and thewayishere perhaps finally some action can be taken? Emailing Richard Lawrence at the website provided by thewayishere might be useful; anonymous forums are good for sharing experiences but don't really make it into the public view; they operate below the surface.

In what way are you still "technically" a patient? I understand your ambiguity and the shock you must be feeling. But whatever beneficial experiences people have had with CH, in whatever metier he has been pursuing, he has always left a trail of anger, misery and confusion which as Dorje says is not a good sign in a physician, or a spiritual advisor, or a human being, for that matter.

Hi Sparrow I don't know who instructed CH in New Zealand. What I do know is that - at the time I knew him, anyway - he professed absolutely no connection with Tibet or any Eastern disciplines. He was associated with Builders of the Adytum, a hermetic group which is a sort of latter-day offshoot of the Golden Dawn. Then as now, there were flashes of evidence of knowledge, shrouded by incon

CH had considerable knowledge of martial arts which, however, he could easily have picked up in NZ. He did have a lot of extra-curricular education; it is just the sources of instruction which have been misrepresented.

Have you raken, or will you take, any action on this Cornwell? While not wishing to start the whole argument up again, I tend to side with those who believe that if you have grounds to seek Hansard's suppression through some legal means, it would be advisable to do so. Karmic retribution can take quite a while, after all, and is unpredictable.

Really! I am sure that we are all curious to hear Oak's story if she wishes to tell it on this forum, and equally, willing to respect her privacy if she doesn't. I hope that her action will have an outcome.

I am way out of my depth here especially as I know nothing of the alleged abuse besides what I have seen on this forum, but Jeff I think your use of the word "complicity" is right on the mark. The thing is, to be blunt, if you get attacked and robbed/raped or otherwise violated out of the blue by a complete stranger you are clearly not complicit or responsible in any way and pressing ch

Ah well, at least it's free, albeit cheesy as hell. Shudder. As I recall he used to have a redeeming sense of irony.

I wouldn't advocate going after Peter Hansard, or anyone, without just cause, such as pending charges. I wanted to provide some background leads to help a genuine (and I hope fair) enquiry in case it should take place as there appeared to be a lot of confusion (understatement!) about CH's past; there were requests for people who had known him in NZ to tell their story and no one else h

Yes. Is there anyone in the UK who is willing or able to follow up Peter Hansard? I have no idea whether he would be supportive of Chris's cause or not but at least he could and I am sure would verify the facts about his early life. As for Chris, what about the police department that had a file on him? Is that still active? Couldn't they alert Interpol?

Hello Gondolf, I presume this is a reply to my statement about Peter Hansard. If he has died I was unaware of it. Are you sure of it? If alive he would only be 72. In fact I would recommend that - unless he is dead - the UK "operatives" try to contact him as I am sure he would make a reliable witness. Although God knows what he would make of his son. He divorced Chris's mother Mary

Great. I wonder how Peter Hansard would feel about being described as "simple and uneducated." He was quite a figure in the art/business world in NZ during the 70s and early 80s. Among other things he collaborated on film-scripts and books with such NZ luminaries as actor Ian Mune and painter Raymond Ching, and did a witty and sophisticated cartoon-strip for the NZ Listener. How insulti

I knew CH in New Zealand in 1982. At the time he was in legal and financial trouble. He had been running a mime school - the Auckland Mime Workshop - which had collapsed among massive hurt and anger from former colleagues and students. He was frequently ill, with a lot of physical pain and as Lorenzetti mentioned walked with a stick. He never mentioned Tibet, or Bon medicine although he expressed
