One of my professors told me about this article from the American Psychological Association: While I would not place entities such as Berkeley Psychic Institute etc. in the "Reverend Jim Jones" category, I think it's an interesting article. It also mentions Steve Hassan- his name sounds familiar to me. Ana

While I was there, one person in the c.v. training ended up getting into trouble with the law, and one person ended up in a mental institution. The director and staff take no responsibility, phrasing it as "that person's mockup" (or goal as a spirit in a body, if you will). Whatever. Oh, and as far as time commitment goes, it's 7.5 work hours a month (flyering or what

All, thank you for the enlightening comments. Out here in the Midwest, they don't use "church" references. The director decided when he opened MPI eight years ago not to categorize it as a Church. No such database exists here, to my knowledge, and I was a building host several times during the Clairvoyant training. I think they're just plain lazy here, which is why the

I am starting to understand that their teachings are Scientology based, that Lewis Bostwick had a falling out with Ron Hubbard (which is why BPI is now on Scientology's black list), and that criminality abounds: If anyone want to contact me for a phone interview I would be willing. I am also looking for

Well I posted a reply but now I can't find it. I took classes for two years at a sister school of the Berkely Psychic Institute (BPI) here in Chicago at MPI - Midwest Psychic Institute (now called InVision I believe). Suffice to say that it started out positive, but turned out damaging. In the past the Director has slept with the female students, often at the same time. There'

I know all the secrets about Berkeley Psychic Institute because I attended a sister school - The Midwest Psychic Institute - from 1999 - 2001. I would be open to being interviewed on the phone about their specific teachings, however, I don't want to post anything here for privacy sake (sorry, still a bit paranoid from my experience). I will say this, however. The most striking thing
