Barbie, I'm sorry that you have to go through all this. Many of the people on this site know first hand what it's like to be the victim of Dave's spin. I think you are doing the right thing by ignoring it as much as you can. There is no "winning" with Dave. He has nothing else to do but argue all day long. He eventually wears people down. Who else can spend so many hour

I don't keep up with the forums very well anymore, but I feel confident in saying that what is happening here isn't about "hatemongering". I, personally, feel a lot of love for the people in the JC's and I don't want to alienate or hurt them. I think that there are many destructive aspects of the JC's that people need to be made aware of and this is a great pla

Yes, Malcolm and hello. Dave has no conscience when it comes to reinventing history, completely changing people's words or manipulating their meanings. Malcolm, I too hope that the current member's are taking note and that they have not just hardened themselves to the truth. I also believe that this tendency is the reason that there are not more ex-members who speak out against him.

Glenn, Thanks for answering people's questions. There is good and bad in everything. None of us would have joined our groups if there wasn't something good that initially attracted us. There seems to come a point when we have to ask ourselves which is the greater here...the good or the bad. I have read some posts on the JC forum where you have questioned their stance or Dave'

Below is a post from the JC forum from someone named "Steven". I thought it was very interesting. about 5 years ago I was contacted by Dave (and Cherri I beleive) via email, in an unsollicited response to a posting I had made on a secular board about my being a live kidney donor. I am also a practicing Christian, and have occasionaly shared my faith as a foundation to what

Hi Glenn, Speaking for myself, I am an individual. I am not part of any group now. I'm a Christian and I'm training to be a nurse. My JC experience wasn't all bad. I had many good times with the "rank and file". Dave, though, is very conniving and manipulative. He doesn't care about anything or anyone when they/it do not further his plans. I know that this t

Jinnythesquinny wouldn't understand how the JCs really operate. She isn't going to see the whole picture if she just hangs out with them occasionally. They are very good at putting the best foot forward in efforts to relate to "potentials". Jinnythesqinny may not think of herself as a "potential" but she better believe the JCs see her as one. QuoteIn fact I think it would be good to let the JC's alone now as far as posting stuff on their forum, because Dave is using it all to solidify in his followers minds that he is being persecuted, causing them to rally around him. Although questions hardly rate as persecution. I agree. I wouldn't be surprised if this supposed "persecution" leads to him coming up with some

QuoteapostateHow stupid of David McKay to say there is no peer pressure for his group members to donate kidneys when they all have to wear T shirts telling people to donate kidneys. The sheer act of doing that would cause a cognitive dissonance that would need to be reckoned with if the wearer had not already donated their kidney. I am a bit confused. I wanted to add a few comments concerning children in the group. As Concerned Mother wrote, they do have to take a back seat to practically everything. The group has little to no concern about their education. Parents have to really push to get the time to homeschool them. They like children stop schooling by 14 at the latest. They figure that there is more for children to learn wanderi
