Then why put random quotes from the bible- plebs like Jack and I :D don't understand unless you explain in what way they refer to McCay. And not being religious we are interested solely in how they relate to McCay. It would just be good for me at least if you would explain the context of the quotes a bit in this thread.

Just some people find the brimstoney bits of the bible a bit scary as I think Jack was saying. unless his :?: means you need to put the verses in context a tiny bit of how you are applying them to mcCay? i.e. unlike McCay with x,y,z thing he has done etc.

I donated books 2 and 3, never bothered to finish the one about communion with God. Quotejeannelucille she mentions having had a chemical face peel done. I remember feeling rather shocked when I read that -- as did at least one other of my former fellow angel therapy practitioners! Well, Louise Hay herself has a face which erm, I don't think she has achieved with affirmations alone

QuoteThe Anticultthe posts struck me as disengenuous as well, with the goal of trying to show Landmark is "not a big deal", which is false, of course. But perhaps he just made a mistake when he mentioned that the girl who had a break-down after revealing her child abuse, was taken to the hospital the next day. But even that didn't sound quite right, don't know why he would

Quoterrmoderator It's people like "Trooper" that have made it necessary to eliminate the edit and delte functions for anyone other than moderators. . Thats ok but sometimes people do face extreme pressure, threats etc due to what they write here so people need to know the mods will be sympathetic to that and take stuff down if it's really needed. His posts sounded rigged from the start, they had fiction written all over them with devices such as 'I am cracking open a beer to write this' etc etc people don't often refer to the act of writing in that way unless it is in some way contrived. They were works of fiction, to make any criticism of landmark seem like nothing to make a big deal over, IMHO.

At least Landmark survivors can find support and discover the numerous others who have been through it, on forums such as this. Some activists against Landmark have really stuck their necks out, so others now will be able to find a bit more information and support. Some braved such personal stress to make the France 3 film available online. One of the worst problems for survivors of abus

QuotezeuszorQuotekath Do you think that aya and plant spirits like it can be used to achieve authentic spiritual/mystical states and that there is any legitimacy with their use in a ceremonial/religious context? Maybe, but the people I knew who were going to this church were just druggies who used ever other drug going. For a drug to have ceremonial/religious significance I think a person

Brrrr. I've never been involved myself but I know people that have been. They were people who were into drugs, psychedelics and supposed psychedelic therapy anyway any excuse to take drugs, hence they went along to this, for the free trip. QuoteGulab Jamon I would also recommend reading "S" by John Updike. It appears to be based on an Osho/Rajneesh-like guru, written from the point of view of an upper-class suburban woman who leaves her husband to join the guru's ashram. Ooh that sounds brill, I really like some of john updike's books :)

The set-up would be I imagine similar to those study groups based on A Course in Miracles. But the teacher had been trained to teach it or something I think, it was not a dicussion group, but a taught course of exercises and meditations. Where I live in the UK, you can do local evening classes at adult education centres, entitled 'You can Heal Your Life.' and yes I did actually go for a while lol, and we all had to buy the book. What one lady who went, who happened to be a social worker, said, was that most of the people there had very deep problems. They'd not just be solved by affirmations and stuff like that

That no-one stands up to cults/destructive groups is what astounds me. People will be very clear in private what their view of them is but no-one is prepared to do anything but whitewash them on the record, I presume for fear of nastiness towards them personally. And institutions such as academia, websites and other corporations back them up too. (I don't mean particularly in a conspirac

I've never been a follower and it would take quite a lot to "brain wash" me, especially if I'm skeptical before the weekend. That's what everyone thinks about themselves, though.
