Somebody just sent me this article about how some doctors want to experiment with LSD on their patients like they did in the 1960s. QuoteTripping Your Way to Sobriety "Oct. 16, 2006 — Imagine this. You are hooked on alcohol and you want help getting off the booze. You go to your doctor, and he or she says, "Drop some acid." That's right. LSD, the infamous drug of cho

I don't think that message is vague at all. Any body can see its meant for someone who has a job helping other people who thinks he's a bigshot and thinks he has earned every body's respect but really it came to him by accident or because of God. This guy is letting his pride get in the way and is hurting some of them instead of helping them. Mr. ufo says that if this person doesn&

The life and teachings of Jesus, pages 120 to 196 The Urantia book has at least 76 pages about Jesus and what what he said means, and if that isnt rewriting the Bible from a alien point of view what is. They're not the only ones doing it though because I read of a bunch of cults that do that here on the forum like some cults on this topic at the top of the page. Sheesh. Those guys are in A

The only thing I ever heard from Urantia was what some guy was saying here on this forum on some other thread about AA. He kept quoting the bible and said Urantia explained it and they have this picture of Jesus in front of a space ship or something I don't remember and I don't care enough to go look it back up. Here's from their website homepage: QuoteToday's "Thought

Quoteandychee seems upset that I have suggested there are more appropriate message boards than this one for anti-AA people to post at. by rr moderator I'm not upset, I just wonder what the big deal is with AA? There are lots of stuff being talked about here and nobody gets all riled up about any thing but AA. If I said my dad quit herbalife because the were bad no one would try to make me

Colter, you claim to believe in the bible. I think that ne of the most important things it says is Judge not lest ye be judged. Bad stuff happens in AA and I dont think anybody should have to keep their mouth shut about it.

I don't get it. Why are you so worried about people talking about the cult like stuff that AA does. This is the cult education forum, right? A lot of people think AA does some stuff that are like what cults do. Mary Kay must too, And Anti black hate groups. Some people think the military does some cult like stuff. You say they're not cults either. But i don't see you always trying

I went back and read most of barbras posts and it looks to me like she did a lot of reserch about AA and posted links to all kinds of stuff that had an answer to what people were asking. But she did ask the rrmoderater how he was involved with AA and I never saw him answer her. Maybe what really happened was that she had too many expert opinions that backed up what she said. I didnt think she was

Quoteerrrrrrrrm, andychee, what I told you is not from AA, it's from the clinical psychology community as relates to sex addiction and any number of other addictions. From colter That the kind of talk I heard all the time at AA meetings, and that's what every body said you had to get a sponsor so you could tell them everything bad you did especially sex. I don't have a problem

"Frequent masterbation is a symtom of sex addiction?" Who gets to decide how much is too much, the room full of people or just your sponsor and why would any body want to talk to people they hardly know about stuff like that? If this is the kind of stuff AA wants you to think about and talk about all the time I'm glad i quit. I dont want to hear about it in a room full of people

Wait a minute. You said AA can't be a cult because it doesn't have a living totalatarian leader. Ben bradley said scientology doesn't have one ether. He never said AA is like scientology, he just said scientology doesn't have a single leader except one who died. At least not that I saw. He only asked if you still call it a cult even though the leader died. Is it a cult? I ne

QuoteThis is what colter wrote. "It's is very common for alcoholics to have sex problems such as lust, masturbation and marital infidelity. AA critics attempt to blame that on the AA program rather then hold the individuals responsible for their own behavior which they brought to AA. " I never heard that mastur------ was a sex problem. Maybe most religions say its a sin but most

I don't see what the big deal is, and why you say we shouldn't talk about bad stuff that happens in AA just because you don't think its a cult. Mary Kay isnt a cult. Herbalife isnt a cult. I don't know about Primarica and quixitar, but are they cults? There are plenty of people telling about how the got used for sex or money and had their heads messed up by being told to wo

It does seem wierd to me the way african Americans, and latin Americans and different religiona can be proud to be proud of thier race or religion, but if a white person ever said that every body calls him a racist. I think any body who is proud to be a certain race or a religion and wants to tell people that must be some kind of a biggot. Otherwise why is is just bad for white people to be pro

QuoteThe question of how to approach the man we hated will arise. It may be he has done us more harm than we have done him and, though we may have acquired a better attitude toward him, we are still not too keen about admitting our faults. Nevertheless, with a person we dislike, we take the bit in our teeth. It is harder to go to an enemy than to a friend, but we find it much more beneficial to u

When I was in AA they said ever time you were mad at some body it was your own fault and that you had to make an amends. I asked what if someone just walked up and kicked you and it pissed you off? They said then you had to see how that made you afraid and that being afraid was a defect of character so you would have to apologize to the person who kicked you some day later. The guy explained it

AA seemed like a cult to me because they were all "our way or the highway", and "you will die if you don't do it our way" and all these people acted like they were afraid to quit going to meetings because they'd die if they did. And they told me I was going to die if I didn't do it there way. And I don't think it's right to try to force anyone to beli

"they hated me and they will hate you also"??? That's totally nuts! Who are you saying hates Jesus? I don't like AA and I love Jesus. Now youre saying that "whoever hates me hates you"? Aren't you the Urantia guy who reads about what ET says what Jesus really meant by what he said? I think who ever tries to twist what Jesus said hates Jesus. My church d

On thing that always kind of pissed me off is that its always the young guys who have to be out front and get killed and the old guys sit in the office and boss everybody around. But it would be nice to get paid to go to school after you got out. So how come all these new churches like Battle cry and maybe Set Free have war shows and stuff like that and talk about fighting the war for God? It

Yeah but we need some body to protect the country from our enemies. Maybe you don't want to but there are some guys who do. Thats how they got guys to go fight terrorists in Iraq. If they let them think for them selves the terrorists would take over the US.

This was the frist time I ever heard of a group called Urantia. It seems like they want to rewrite the bible and say they know better because they are aliens. That is just too nuts. Nobody who is a real christain would beleive this junk. I think some body made it up so they could sell a lot of books and make a lot of money. And there are guys in Arizona and California who are pretending to be

I just wanted to tell ughabhu that the judge told me if I went to AA for a month they would keep me out of jail. That was in America. He didn't say anything about anything else. I wasn't old enough to drink but I was an adult by the law. I went, but I didn't like it. I had to get my slip signed at least twice a week. If it happened again I'd tell the judge no way. I don

I quit drinking by faith but not in AA, and my church does'nt beleive in aliens ether. In AA they attack you if you don't beleive on God, and if you do they say you're wrong about God. I'll stick with the real Jesus, not some alien from another planet, thank you very much.

I was taught that the guys who formed the constitution were christians, and that now people say they weren't because they want to write God out of our lives. Maybe it's not right to say you have to be christain, but don't we say One Nation under God? What kind of a coun try would we be if there were athiests in charge of us? How would you make any body obey the law if they don

I think reality is like this. Maybe in the big picture even if somebody does something evil it will work out good so maybe there really isn't good and evil if there is God in charge. Like some people think the devil is working for God. I do but my church doesn't. But even if you can see this, if you are smart you know that there is still right and wrong and its wrong to hurt other peo

My girlfriend's mother says that their family is Jewish, but they go to the same church as me, which is Baptist. She said if youre Jewish there is a disease called tay-sacks that comes from a gene defect that Jewish people have more often, so if being Jewish is just a religion, I don't see how that can happen. She says being Jewish is more like being a race than a religion. Does an
