Interesting about them having support from the government in the Czech Republic. Here in the UK they still have their charity status, although I have written letters to the charity commission and so have many other people I know. I know it may seem like a small gesture, but it was letters of complaint which lead to the withdrawal of the Edward Penney cult group's charity status, and later in

Very interesting! I didn't realise he was reimbursed, I just assume his overpriced lectures, book sales etc paid for it all. I guess this shows just how much he milks his followers. Thanks for posting! While I agree that perhaps this sort of evidence is better than personal testimonies, I felt former members like me could do with a place to air their experiences and have it all in one pla

Very interesting about the pressure applied in the groups, that fits my experience as an ex-member too. It's as if there's some dual reality - One where you know you disagree with what is being taught, but at the same time you are accepting everything you are taught and can't see anything wrong with it, and see it as perfect. Bizarre, but I guess that's what the cult's

This is a rather interesting blog from Denmark. Here is a quote (translated to English): Quote The self-Tibetan "Lama" Ole Nydahl is a racist and homophobe and a fairly dangerous man for the Muslims in Denmark. He is behind the Ole Nydahl new religious quasi-Buddhist Movement, 'Diamond Way Buddhism', and it's perverse universe. I have also found many Danish web

He does indeed speak in riddles! That is his way of avoiding awkward questions, too! His followers seem to mimic this when the awkward questions are asked too. Brainwashing and programming at it's finest! I have found a rather amusing blog created by a follower of Ole Nydahl and member of his Diamond Way cult that aims to "set the mindless slander straight" against the Diamond W

Very interesting article, and shows that the attacking and smearing of critics comes right from the top! The 'only some bad eggs do that' argument from Diamond Way cult members has been well and truly disproven!

An amusing comment from the 'Diamond Way Cult' blog: Quote Ole can switch on rainbows on the sky after each Phowa. There are tens thousands who have seen that in all the world. What can you, boy? There are thousands ex-heroinists, who became "ex" with Ole's help only. What have made you, boy? Continue to continue your silly blog. Apart from the poor English,

I thought it was the Jehova's Witnesees that didn't allow blood transfusions? Scientology has an irrational fear/hatred of psychiatrists, and any mental health help for it's members. Therefore many Scientologists have committed suicide or had psychotic episodes that would not have occured had they had the proper treatment. Scientology also has a long history of 'removing

Any news regarding Ole Nydahl's visit to London on the 25th and 26th of April? I heard the Home Office were considering banning him from entering the country based on his hate-speech.

Interesting point Corboy. Could this be evidence of these two points in my quote a few pages back? Quote6. There is one rule for those lower in the hierarchy, and another for those at the top. For instance, Diamond Way teaches that adultery is wrong (in common with authentic Buddhism), but at the same time, Ole Nydahl is known to have had affairs with several of his students, and had a mistres

Interesting posts, thanks. In my experience (as a former member), such abuse does take place in the form of financial extortion and mental abuse. I guess in such a an environment where sexual promiscuity is encouraged and enforced, it shouldn't be a surprise that sexual abuse also occurs. What is however most alarming is the group's reactions. There is a collective and systematic attemp

Quotevdesign Thanks Emma. Is this what everyone else feels? I thought I could contribute to open-minded discussion on DW but if we are past the verdict stage then there is no point... Cheers You are welcome to contribute open-minded discussion. That is what this forum is for - to have the open-minded discussions DW would rather we didn't have.

QuotevdesignHi guys, New to the thread and have a questions. On the last few pages I only found posts dissecting and damning DW as a cult. Most contributors presenting a different viewpoint have now been banned. Has it now been established (on this thread) that DW is a cult and this is forum for survivors to offer mutual support and try to warn others? Honest question - RR is a cult education

Good point, Jah. I wonder what will happen after Ole Nydahl's death. His cult group will either be brought into line, or he will be replaced by the so-called "travelling teachers" who are the next down in the hierarchy, and chosen for their ability to copy Ole exactly.

While I agree to some degree with what you have said about Vajrayana, this topic is about Ole Nydahl and his Diamond Way cult, which is not legitimate Vajrayana. Please stay on topic. As far as 'reforming' Diamond Way goes, I'm not sure it's possible. Any attempt at reforming it is met with a response similar to what we saw earlier in this thread, followed by harassment an

Very interesting. I have a copy of The Tibetan book of Living and Dying. On the front cover it says Sogyal Rinpoche, but inside it says "Edited by Patrick Gaffney and Andrew Harvey", yet it also copyrighted exclusively to Sogyal Rinpoche. Do you have any more information regarding this. It interests me as I have this book!

The idea of public action is a good one, but at my (admittedly small) attempts at public action, and another former member friend of mine's organisation of a protest have simply led to yet more harassment and death threats from Diamond Way. The idea of a 'Dharma debate' is very difficult with Diamond Way, because as corboy said, they will simply use this as an excuse to restrict
