QuoteDharamRakshakIt would seem that (almost) everyone has exorcised their personal demons and perhaps soon this thread will vanish into obscurity. I would be sorry to see the voice that has really started to speak and be heard silenced. Could be that most people round about this time of year, much like myself, have been more busy enjoying the holidays - but you should take heart in that ex-fol

Quotejust-googlingThere is another youtube video that shows the bulldozer destroying the home of the devotees, and the police throwing people out of their houses. Much worse than the situation in Poland... Too bad Tusta is not around to take this into the courts and talk some sense into these people!!! UNBELIEVABLE! :? :( :? I found another video that also leads to the website for

QuoteHe used to be a respected shaman and part of EagleSwing ( www.shamanism.co.uk ) - a perfectly respectable and trustworthy organisation running safe courses in all kinds of shamanic activities. But now no-one will work with him and he kinda got kicked out. Actually he has 'lost the plot' is what a few well known practitioners have stated. I would think that would be the first war

QuoteGay persons by nature are more suited to ecstatic forms of spirituality than to ascetic forms, because gay persons experience a dramatically different relationship to the erotic than non-gay persons by virtue of inhabiting physical bodies that are erotically stimulating to themselves. A gay man in a monastery, by contrast, takes the object of his erotic desire with him, moving, breathing

I really admire your spirit. The more people who give attention and form opposition to cults like this the less damage they will be able to do. It is going to take a lot of determination and time to bring down a cult and if you are really dedicated to it it could take years. You may have to accept that it may never fully stop - there is likely to be people who are firmly entrenched in the beli

As we know SOI has a novel approach to sharing the teachings of Srila Prabhufraud and graciously sharing their enlightenment with the world - almost a total information blackout. :?: It would seem there is a connection between the taking down of the websites at Siddha's direction (of course) and the the poaching of the lead disciple of the school in the Phillipines. What better way to av

I have had no personal involvement with this group but looking at them I would say that they should at the very least be approached with caution and that they are potentially dangerous. Looking at the link that you posted the picture on the front page looks suspiciously like a kirtan to me (congregational chanting) in the Krishna religions. This is where people would dance and sing mantras, th

Zelig there is some great information there. Quotejust-googlingThey started arming themselves with rifles and hand-guns and patroling the compound 24 hours a day. There was a strong feeling of paranoia and that "they were out to get us." Nobody seemed to take the affair into context - that it could be merely a couple of drunk locals who were out "having a good time."

The first time that I ever heard about Sai Baba was when I was taking a Bhakti course at a disciple's home in Brisbane. The disciple Gayatri said that Baba was a dangerous mystic. When pressed as to whether such powers as he claimed did actually exist she said that Siddha had instructed that they do but that they are not spiritual. She told a story that a follower in Hawaii had encounte

Hi NewEnglandKnight, Good for you! Just be careful and make sure that you and your friends are safe please. My thoughts are with you. I am new to the cult thing too, but I try to do what I can. I looked at the Twelve Tribes section of the RR database after replying to your last thread and it has a lot of verified accounts there - it really is an excellent resource. It looks like the New

I don't know about the particular cult that you are talking but they sound very dangerous. rrmoderator is right - use every opportunity that you can find to let whoever will listen that they exist and what they are up to. Cults thrive in secrecy and in many ways depend on it to go about recruiting. If you haven't already I would sugguest writing to the homeless shelters and public

I said I wasn't going to post here anymore but that is the most ignorant comment that I have ever heard so I will make this the last. I am not about to take a couple of internet links when there are thousands on fibromyaliga and over the treating medical professionals that I have consulted over the past ten years. I knew one of the skeptics brigade would weigh in to challenge the diagnos

Fair enough. I'm happy not to post on this thread anymore. Numerous people have continued to raise points which have been refuted whilst preaching the views of James Randi and I was told that this was not preaching and no one was trying to convert me on the 'Lizard Food' thread. I think that the concept of a skeptics cult might actually gain some ground in future.

So in your opinion Kath it is better to have free access to medical options that make a person sick and cause thousands of deaths per year (and please consider that these statistics come from a country with a relatively small population) than it is to have access to medical options that might not work but are certainly not hurting anybody? I would have been most interested in your opinions on

AntiCult please, I am not challenging you to a one on one debate with me, it would be pointless since you do not respond to what I write anyway. I disagree that it is impossible to change my mind about Randi and I think that you should refrain from judging my intelligence or my allegiances. Quite frankly it makes it appear, alongside your lack of response, vague allegations of conspiracy and frie

QuoterrmoderatorAlternative medicine can be destructive if someone either delays or doesn't seek medical treatment in favor of an unproven alternative. Quotejust-googlingI think ACB did not attach any negative connotations to the word "cult" - maybe as a result of his history of Indian-English language(?).... I agree, and I am sorry that I neglected to mention this when I posted the link to the video - it was quite biased of me. It is my understanding, I may be wrong, I recall seeing it in numerous books, that the term 'cult
