Now days I think pretty much anything will fly in Christendom, any idea it don't matter. For a while I got into watching Christian television, I guess it is just my critical nature. God is dealing with me about that, but anyway, several preachers on there talk about how rich Jesus was, after all, He had a personal physician, LUKE. Now I am no theologian, but come on, LUKE? And Jesus having a

Well, the blood moons have come and gone. Sort of like 1979, coming and going. The JWs have set a bunch of times, but they all came and went. I know one guy on TV that wrote a book that is a best seller, and it was all shooting a blank. They are going to make a movie about that one, and it will be sold out no doubt. I don't know if it is OK to name names, so I won't name names. The th

A CD. It seems sort of strange buying something from them, we had a few hundred casette tapes but one of our brethren stole all of them. Long story.

Sometimes when I am in a restaurant and I feel like the meal is a little slow coming, what I do is make a phone call or put in a stick of gum and lo and behold there comes the waitress. Just as soon as I said I thought Living Word would not deliver the tape, it came in the mail. I stand rebuked. I was wrong. They ARE sending out tapes to non-members after all.

It looks like LWF doesn't sell their tapes to just anybody. I ordered one, but when I checked my bank account, the money was never taken out. Then I went back and tried to get an account with them, and that just aint happening. It seems that nothing much has changed with them. They would actually make money if they started selling their products to the public, there are enough fruitcake

One last thing. I didn't mean by my last post, that I had found the perfect church, I don't know if there is such an animal. I don't know if there has ever been such a thing, not yet anyway. What I have discovered is there is politics wherever there are men, there is an agenda where-ever you go. My only gripe about Living Word, is I thought it was different. I thought I was diffe

Lily Rose, that is true, the early church did not have all of the manipulation, I would add, they did not have all of the politics. I have been in a few churches since the Living Word Fellowship, and there are politics in all of them, that is the nature of the beast, sadly. But I have never seen the sort of politics played anywhere else. The thing that bothers me so much, after all of these year

I was in a church called LIVING WORD FELLOWSHIP many years ago. It was a Latter Rain church. I believe that the NAR is an offshoot of that movement that started in the 1940s. The Overseer of the church said the Jesus had appeared to him and made him an apostle. So this is really not anything new, it has been around for a long time. The Manifest Sons of God, the belief that the apostles and proph

One of the things that attracted be about the Walk, was the freedom to get high and still worship the Lord. I thought I had the go-ahead from the leadership. Of course, that is just a case of getting my ears tickled, getting the idea that I can do my own thing and still be a part of what God is doing in the Earth. But other than that, I liked the idea of the leadership having a “commission,

It would seem to me, that anyone that is in the place of a shepherd in God's church would try to imitate the ministry of Jesus, the Great Shepherd, rather than to imitate a task master. You can go through all of the words of Jesus recorded in the bible and you will see that all of the things He taught brought freedom for the people of God, instead of the hard burdens the Pharisees put on th

A warning to all those that are still in Living Word, or to those that are out of it now but still believe the following: To accept the belief that ANYONE is Christ in the Earth is to usurp the place of Jesus as the Christ and therefore to commit idolatry. That opens up people to accept the concept that John Robert Stevens was their spiritual father, again, taking him as their God instea

Lily Rose, I have heard lots about the blood moons. All over the internet there are predictions about what might happen this month. Everything from the rapture to the beginning to the great tribulation, depending on what eschatological view is being promoted at the time. Mostly I think it's a few people with intelligent reasons to believe something is about to happen, and lots of others th

Lily Rose, back a few posts, you mentioned forgiving, and I said that what has helped my bitterness some was the realization that I was part of the problem to a great extent, I said that I would not have done any better if I were in charge of things. But beyond that, there is something else that is important, all of us would be better off to forgive, because scientific proof shows that when peopl

Lily Rose, just that very thing is the reason Latter Rain theology was rejected by Assemblies of God, that thing where they believe they can "create" a person into an office. A prophet and an apostle, according to scripture are allways, ALLWAYS commissioned by the Lord Himself, the Angel of the Lord, NEVER, was anybody in those days set into that office by any man laying hands on them.

I just don't get this "word for the world" junk, I wonder if any of you have bought anything from them, tape, video, written message in years, because I doubt seriously if it is possible to get a password there to buy anything unless you are a member and loyal to marilyn. That is just my guess. I might try to get that password myself and see what happens.

And that is what prompted the sale of the smaller churches? -------------------------------------------------------------------- Changedagain, I don't know. I have been told wrong or they are lying. I have been told that Marilyn sent out a word for most of the churches to California or the Shiloh area in Iowa. Their website says: “In the 1990s, many congregants of the smaller churches and home meetings chose to relocate in order to attend the churches originally founded by John Robert Stevens. Since the mid-90s, the fellowship has focused on dev

I too have been pretty bitter. The thing that is making me snap out of it some, is the realization that I could not have possibly done things better than the leadership of the Living Word Fellowship. I was just as messed up because I was so full of myself that I thought I was the answer to everybody's problems. I think these guys think the same thing. I am coming to the conclusion that the c

Welcome SlandJT. I am always amazed at the difference in the churches in other parts of the country than they were in the South. We never had all of those abuses I hear about. I recall people asking for marriage check-outs, even asking for prayer over what color car to buy, but I don't know of any pastor or elder in my area telling anybody what to do about anything. I don't know of any

John MacArthur said that Christians can take the mark of the beast without concern. That is on video and can be seen by googling it. You can pull up the video by typing in "John MacArthur says Christians can take the mark of the beast." I would say there is something very basically wrong with this guy.

About my last post, that might not be entirely true, what I said about Stevens putting Hargrave in charge because he kissed up. It could be that Hargrave was the best to put in charge. There was enough insanity to go around in Living Word Fellowship, I know for certain, and I mean for certain that if I, myself, had been put in Hargrave's place, (omit the part about being married to the Lamp,

I think the reason Hargrave advanced so quickly is simple to understand. With John Robert Stevens all it took was kissing up to him, with people that are stuck on themselves, if someone comes along and says "Yes that's right" every time he opened his mouth, naturally they are going to advance quickly. Same then as it is now.

To add to my last post. I do not wish anything bad on Gary and Marilyn. I hope they will repent and be saved. I do wish them long life and salvation, but that is their choice. It is not automatic because of their rank in that church of theirs. They are getting old now, and time if running out for them like it is for all of us. They will not become eternal beings that have to answer to no-one, the
