Longlegs, The moderator did hit the nail on the head. This is an anonymous thread, everyone wants to remain anonymous, and hopefully we do. If someone eludes to following the thread or "watching" it, it is just a very subtle mind game insinuating that they might know who you are. I don't think anyone fears for their physical safety. My only fear, as you also said, is interfer

QuoteFallen 49rI don't believe anyone is making "threats" about the legitimacy of this group, saying, "I'm on the inside, and we're keeping tabs on the RATS." It's quite clear to me that anyone saying they're "in" is either expressing their frustrations and helpless, or saying "you guys won't believe the crap they think is true,&quo

This article clearly describes the characteristics of a cult and its leader: The Harvard Mental Health Letter/February 1981 By Robert Jay Lifton, M.D. "Cults can be identified by three characteristics: 1. a charismatic leader who increasingly becomes an object of worship as the general principles that may have originally sustained the group lose their power; 2. a process I call coe

Moderator: Thank you for those links. They are extremely helpful. From my experience many of the things I and others I know have experienced has been very well described in the book you have linked, "Thought Reform and The Psychology of Totalism" by Robert Jay Clifton, especially the section on "mystical manipulation". Mystical Manipulation Quoted from chapter 22 of the &q

Longlegs, It is pretty clear to me that if everyone IS being watched, by people who do not feel that the JH group is an abusive and controlling cult, they are watching for ulterior motives constituting an implied threat. "WATCHING" the thread to see what others are doing and to try to figure out who they are, for personal or group purposes, is a completely different thing, than reading

I guess those who would state that "the group is huge...international" , a family decended from which ever three families, would also believe that there are were "watchers" here, Spain, all over the world.. Those things sort of go together as implied threats. Again these were all the teachings of JH. I haven't heard any mention of any of this recently. But I also don&

I have read on a few previous posts, people saying that they have been following this post for a long time and are just now deciding to post. They then go on to say that they are "in". To me this seems like the person who is "in" is making an implied threat, insinuating that everyone who is on here, especially those who are "in" are being watched. "Watchers&q

Family member that they "want to keep". There have been people who are willing to just leave it all behind and start over, family or friends a thing of the past.

I think that if anyone leaves it is their emotional safaty they fear for. If someone with no family or friends that they want to keep in their life, leaves, they can just walk away. If a person wants to keep the family they love, it is a problem because members will tell remaining members that you are a goat instead of a sheep, or that you are on the left, which means you are a person who canno
