Two pages of long, rambling incoherent posts (again)? Time to look a couple of pages back! What needs to be buried so you won't see it?

The Mooji squad all seem to argue the same line: "That's not been my experience so it's definitely not true because GOD". Here's some choice quotes, some more considered than others: Omkara wrote: "He doesn't want ANYTHING FROM ANYBODY. He is pure love, pure truth, and this world is so lucky to have such a being of his caliber in this age. Also, the people

On the topic of casually-implied-lineage -that-can-be-denied-as-unimportant-when-necessary: This lithuanian interview is about a mooji-endorsed spiritual teacher who calls himself Ajibaba - "Daddy Aji". Real name John.  Endorsed means that he is using Mooji's name to bottom feed the satsang crowd. The same is true with another teacher called Nitya from Poland. Most of the

Yes, the idea that it can unground you reminds me of how other spiritual groups say you shouldn't read certain spiritual texts because it can make you sick. Or how when you're with the guru, thinking is impossible because the ashram's energy level is just so 'potent' (cue porn jazz). And of course the classic mooji gambit designed to rush you: "don't miss you

From 'The Manipulation of Spiritual Experience: Unethical Hypnosis in Destructive Cults' by Linda Dubrow-Marshall, Ph.D. and Steve K. Double binds in zen (koans) supposedly serve to quieten the psychological mind and get in touch with midichlorians. But it's not magic, or that rare, and it is easily abused. "You blame yourself for feeling confused, frustrated, and conflicted. You tell yourself you must be doing something wrong. You are not following the “system” correctly enough. You have too much ego (too much

"As seitas são, assim, sociedades religiosas lideradas por um individuo carismático que, ao invés de fazer a ponte entre o Divino e o homem, coloca-se no centro da religião, passando a ser ele o pai de toda a comunidade, numa atitude de falso paternalismo. "Shame is the currency of cults and their leaders. The human potential for shame, to feel not good enough, bad or unworthy, is what cult leaders exploit. These traumatizing narcissists instill shame in their followers, using belittling, intimidation and humiliation, alternating these with displays of love and acceptance, in such a way as to convince the follower that their only hope for rede

Oh I heard it was actually some fundamentalist Christians that were doing the death threating because he was acting like Jesus. Threats are of course unacceptable. Are you referring to bringinthecat's post, which mentions 2014, where Mooji read out a angry devotee's letter live on air and in front of hundreds of people? It can't be that because in early 2014 the security team w

"For example, let us say that a satsang teacher has chosen the spiritual nickname of Foo. Now Foo is the actual name. By adding “ji” to it, the name itself is made into Fooji. Everything then gets convoluted. Everyone referring to Mr. Foo is forced to call Mr. Foo, Fooji! This essentially means “Respected Foo.” The option to call Mr. Foo, simply Foo or Mr. Foo is thus taken off the table. T

A useful website called rationalwiki has this to say on theta healing: * Anyone worried about throwing out the baby with the bathwater while reading this site should ensure their baby is seated properly in an upright position, with seatbelt on, and spare diapers stored either in the overhead locker or below the bathtub in front of them. Sorry mixed metaphors there.

Corboy, Mooji only spent a few months with his own guru poonja. Most of it in a public satsang environment as far as I can gather (since he's avoided giving any clear details on this publicly). There is a picture of osho in the ashram, next to many other gurus. I think it's more of a catch-all, Scientology-like attitude to other teachings.

I hope you get well soon, SadG, but it could be that you have been overcome by the apologist flu-state, much like the satsang flu-state. In this state you should not trust your perception or have any opinions, which are all clouded by the flu-state. But rather just listen and trust that we are right. I have been quietly asking your friends to make your life harder and more frustrating, in order t

Exploitation can come about through indoctrination. You had the ability to choose in the beginning. But you have lost that ability. You are a slave, because: A closed ashram environment makes double binds fast and effective. Double binds were first observed as prolonged mixed messages from parents that led to schizophrenia in children. Double binds in ashrams, on the other hand, have a speci

I don't agree that conscious malicious intent is an indicator. I'm sure they believe in what they're doing. I'm sure they believe it completely. As rrmoderator stated, the question is not intent but behavior. And a lack of accountability for that behavior. Some ethics issues I have read that may be more or less controversial: - I think Mooji started with good inte
