Can anyone out there tell me what goes on in the last weekend of Leadership training at the Legacy Center? This is the last weekend of my wife's Leadership course and I find it all suspicious. She got her list of what to bring last Thursday night and was away all weekend with no access to communication. Her behavior of late has been very odd. I'm afraid that I'm losing her t

Basically they are the same type of large group awareness training (LGAT) program presented over a long weekend in a kind of seminar/intensive format. See And also They both have the same basic structure, methods etc., but different people derived the profits and ran the companies. Lifespring was apparently shut down through personal injury lawsuits, though it seems to have reincarn

The following is a list from the website below which may help in investigating the origins of particular groups. The writer links these groups to the Esalen Institute in Big Sur California. I am not endorsing the viewpoint of the writer in its full text, (I have not read it all yet), but am acknowleging the relatedness of the LGATs to each other and their founders as factual. . - Sil

Thanks, Snailster! Check 'em out. Their message board is a lot like ours. You can search it, too. Both pro and con viewpoints are represented. Go and look at all the subsections. There's information about ISA Experience (I couldnt access that thread, but my computer may be cranky today--you may have better luck) PSI Seven Choices Center Legacy Center

My wife went to Legacy and really loved it. Her stated goal-repeated many times--was that she was going through the program to make our marriage stronger. She did the whole program: basic, advanced, leadership. A lot of pressure on her to recruit. And she did recruit a lot of business. I went to basic and thought I got a lot out of it. Then I went to advanced and left after 2 days because o

THere are quite a few Google citations for various entities going by the name 'Legacy Center.' When you do Google searches for this one, make sure to mention 'North Carolina'--that will reduce the URL's to a manageable number. Here's what I found in a preliminary search. You can continue it on your own. Dont forget to go to the Google groups and search there. A g

I don't see it mentioned much, but I believe it is much the same as Lifespring.

My wife went to the Legacy Center in Morrisville, NC. A lot of pressure to recruit new business. Her stated goal was to improve her relationship with me. Well, when I dropped out of a course there because I could not condone the behavior, someone from the LC called her at work and told her that if she did not get me to return, our marriage was "dead." This was in mid November. She

Demand your money back as soon as possible. They will not relent easily. It will probably take some persistance on your part. They will use the fact that you are polite, well-meaning, accomodating, and decent against you. Do not let them bully you. The Legacy Center is the new name for what used to be Lifespring. They are known for ruthless and aggressive behavior towards anyone they can in

From my quick glance at the URLs listed below 'Legacy Center' definitely sounds like you should do further research-- You mention you have bipolar disorder. I have read that stress and insufficient sleep are extremely hazardous for persons with bipolar; disruption of sleep is a well known trigger for manic episodes. If you participate in a heavy group indoctrination program, you may

I don't think you are really at a loss as to what to do. Look at the warning signs. First of all, the Legacy Center was formerly Lifespring of North Carolina. Read the information on this site and on the awareness page regarding Lifespring. Your experience of your friend is " surreal and disconcerting". "I felt like I would fail in her eyes or become somehow a les

I was recently invited by a friend I value very much to an "Educational Seminar" run by an organization called the Legacy Center, in Morrisville, NC (near Raleigh-Durham). After six months of lapsed contact, she arrived at my door one morning, asked me how things were going, and within 4 minutes she was intently analyzing my answers in a way I'd never seen her act before, e.g. &quo
