I'm not sure whether or not the two sides we have over here could be classed as cults, per se, but if the were it would certainly be a symbiotic relationship in that respect.

But it does raise the interesting point that there are no cults (to my knowledge) in existance over here. Sure there are various orders like freemasonry, and Knights of Columbanus et al, but again they are intricately linked to the two side thing.

So does localised tribalism cater for all the psychic needs a cult follower normally needs, or are they cults of sorts in themselves?

There ae groups called "cults" virtually anywhere and everywhere.

Scientology, the Unification Church and other groups maintain branches in Norther Ireland.
