This was actually an extremely fascinating TV drama about this.
It showed how they targeted westernized kids who were away from home, and then started to indoctrinate them, and eliminated the ones who were not suitable.
Then over a period of time, and through sending them to Afganistan for "training", they were literally able to turn these kids into willing "martyrs", whereas only a short time before they were typical western Muslim kids.

They chose these kids as they were better able to integrate into US society, and get US Visa's, to position them to carry out the attacks.

It really shows the process of cult indoctrination, targeting, and recruitment.

and less than a month after 9/11, broadcast the groundbreaking documentary of the young, educated man from a respected family in Lebanon who ended his life at the controls of UA Flight 93.

Now, with new and important information about Jarrah, the fifth estate adds to the dramatic story of The Pilot.

Salafist jihadism is the name European scholars and counterterrorism officials have given to the prevailing ideology that inspires Al Qaeda and other Islamic radicals in Europe and elsewhere.

Salafists, also known as Salafis, are Islamic fundamentalists who believe that Islam should be restored to its most pure origins as written in the Quran. The majority of Salafists are not violent. As Prince Turki, the Saudi Arabian ambassador to the U.K., explained to FRONTLINE, "I am a Salafi and proud to be Salafi, and would consider most good Muslims who follow the teachings of the four principle imams of Sunni Islam are Salafis as well."

But when Salafists meet and mingle with violent jihadists -- whose goal is to reestablish an Islamic state stretching from Morocco to the Philippines -- the ideologies fuse into a combustible mix.
