I need to share my story.

I had a spiritual awakening about 4 years ago which turned my life upside down. To make a long story short, I sought out a mentor that claimed to help women in this space. I had no idea what was happening to me. I was scared and alone and looked to this woman as support after cleaning out my savings account to pay for her mentoring. I admit that I had developed a inappropriate relationship with her. I looked to her as all knowing and like a spiritual mother.

Without going into detail, her approach with me was the opposite of trauma informed but more like tough love that left me feeling anxious and increased my feeling of inadequacy. She had me do breathwork for the first time that ended up catapulting me into Timbuktu. During this altered state, she asked if she could grab my crotch to help move the energy which I consented to during the session. When we were done she told me to eat some grounding food and sent me on my way with no follow up. I felt traumatized at the time but blamed it on myself.

I continued to see her within a group setting and continued to place her on a pedestal searching for her approval. One day I noticed she had unfollowed me on all social media and then wouldn’t return my call. She completely cut me off from contact with no explanation.

This woman is unethical, uneducated, and with a big ego. I now realize that what I experienced was abuse and gross unprofessional behavior and there is nothing I can do about it.
