Hi,
I was romantically involved with someone whose group uses Ericksonian hypnosis-type techniques.
I'm feeling like something quite personal - my head - has been violated. My good intentions were being manipulated by the group leader, I believe, to attempt to bring harm to the person I was involved with.
The person I was involved with was unknowingly using these techniques on me - likely at the coercive persuasion prompting of the cult leader.
Despite this, I still have an emotional connection to this person - this is emotionally confusing. I am having sessions with an exit counsellor, which is clearing things up considerably.
I cut off all contact with this person six months ago, when I became aware that he was involved with some dangerous people, who were endangering me.
What did you do to regain your sense of not being violated as a result of coercive persuasion manipulation?
Best,
