What a marvelous job reporter Michael Valpy died in his article 'Mothers of Invention' in the Globe and Mail, Canada/October 6, 2007.

As a clergy person, my parish was very involved at one time in the Community of Jesus. Mr. Valpy accurately describes the background of the founding Mothers of the Community.

Personally know of mental / physical abuse that went on at the Community. One of the young men [17] from our parish was as 'live in' at the Community for a period of time. He was physically hit on his buttocks with a paddle until he would shed tears. Jerry was a young man who had inner emotional problems and had been unable to cry. This method of discipline was to bring him inner healing.

I made a break with the Community but the effects of their "light sessions" left long term dark shadows in my life and the lives of many of my parishioners.

This is definitely a cult movement and needs exposure.
