Real estate, Cult University expansion, public relations, finance management, investments, portfolios, legal cover, etc.. Everything else is just tax-exempt religious cover and membership manipulation to put on a good show. Eastern philosophy, nichiren buddhism, the magic chant, it's all (again, in the words of Anti-Cult) bait, a lure, a hook, to get people on board to ensure that the show goes on and that the family corporation (power, money and influence in the motherland) continues. International expansion is icing on the cake, when it works out well.
