Vain glory seemed rather vain to me - more about Tony. I did not find it an accurate depiction of the walk. Glad tho' to see a video clip of a "service".

I do hope a more accurate video is produced that is more coherent and sticks to the "walk" and jrs or M & G vs the flaky things Tony and Yoko floated to and from- my opinion - call me critical spirit.

Hello I just discovered yesterday that my mother was a member of this church way before I was born--for about 10 years starting sometime in the early 70s. I am not able to talk to her about this time and was wondering if anyone on here was a member of the North Hills church (I assume she went to this church because she lived in Burbank) around 73-75. What I do know and what helped me discover this cult was that she knew Tony Cox and his daughter (I believe they went by the name Phil and Ruth while in hiding). She also may have attended a Phoenix church in the late 70s early 80s. Given her life's timeline she would have left the church around 1983. I would like to understand my mother's past and understand her more as a person so I am reaching out in hopes someone on here could have potentially crossed paths with her. Thank you!

Welcome maggieb. I'm sure that there are people on this forum who could message you for more info so they can help. I'm asking around too. Best of luck in your quest to understand your mom's background.

I hope this is not too far-off topic, but just want admit here and now that I never could quite appreciate Yoko's singing. I don't have any personal beefs with her (that I know of), just the singing. Again, even if she was partly responsible for breaking up the Beatles, it was the singing that most effected me.
p.s. I'm no longer really bothered by it, BTW. Time has done its work.

Great point changed. You obviously have been studying the characteristic of cult leaders. Knowledge is power.

Happy weekend to you.

Puddington I wish you had warned me to put in ears plugs.

While a video of Yoko Ono screaming like a cat seems a bit off subject I think it puts into perspective the film Vain Glory when Tony Cox says he was searching for god or something like that - Yoko and he were into weird stuff. - Cox time of hiding out with his daughter just did not seem to have a complete perspective of the walk. ) OK- It irritated me.

So really, now credible is Tony's disjointed video.?

I personally would prefer that COX not be taken are a credible source for the world to judge what is going on TLW.

I think we forum members barring the trolls and trouble makers are doing good job of exposing the truth layer by layer and baring our hurts - demonstrating that for the most part the congregation were intelligent, good people. ( Feel free to fix up / correct dispute my statement. I want to be transparent and accurate.)...
... and OUCH YOKO hurt my ears.

I repent for mentioning Yoko's singing.

note: the last time I repented about something was eight years ago when I bought the wrong treats from Costco for my hound. He absolutely hated them. I don't take repentance lightly.
