puddington I had a pair of patent leather Earth shoes that I wore to all the fancy black tie Walk events. That was before Cokas's wedding. I was part of the wedding party. At least that's how I remember it. And, I recall his mother complementing me on my dress, but she recommended I ditch the orthopedic shoes. She said it in a nice way though. lol

I loved Damon. He had once lived in the jungle on Maui and lived off food from the forest. I think he and a cancer survivor from Simi Valley introduced a healthier way of eating to the members. JRS seemed to support them but I don't think he changed his diet as he was overweight and blamed it on the battle. As I said I thought Damon was awesome but one of his farm buddies told me that Damon made his wife walk behind him and carry his stuff. This wasn't widely known or publicized but one day I observed Damon and his wife walk from the farm to the church. It was just as his buddy had said. His wife walked behind him carrying his stuff.

I think people understand that they have no choice but to accept the marriage as the will of God, a requirement if they are to remain in good standing within the fellowship. There was a significant purge after John and Marilyn got married, after Gary and Marilyn got married...and I see no reason why this new development couldn't trigger yet another one. That said, I suspect the people that remain are exhausted and will go along with it...perhaps feigning some enthusiasm.
In any event, this new family appears happy...so good for them (I guess). They will certainly have the resources to do whatever they, I mean God, wants--so that's a big plus.

Red flag. Hopefully. Damon evolved. Larry nailed it about leaders. Hearing strange voices. That caused them to error. Don't think John or G&M would have approved of making a wife walk behind him. However, I can attest to this. Some ministries were a little bit cave man. And a little bit sons of God wannabes.

NancyB, IMHO. Don't apologize. For hogging. It's free. I like reading. Your posts.

I think you are probably right changedagain. There has been so much member conditioning and programming that has occurred over the years. But maybe, just maybe for someone who is having second thoughts about Gary's sincerity in perpetuating JRS's charade about being God's remnant to bring forth judgment and the kingdom, maybe it will be a tipping point for them to jump ship. I say that because it was JRS's marriage to M that may have been the tipping point for me in recognizing the Walk was not what I thought it was. I don't think I was jealous because I was young and certainly didn't have the hots for JRS or ever entertained the thought of being or wanting to be his wife. That would have been gross to me. However, maybe some of the older women may have longed for that at the time. It's hard to describe, but because the light bulb was starting to come on for me, JRS's marriage to his secretary just didn't fit. It was bizarre, weird, and contrary to what I thought the Walk was all about. Now here's G-man marrying a beautiful young woman who is young enough to be his daughter. G-man is almost 70. Sivania deserves better than that. Unless, of course, owning five parsonages, traveling the world, drinking champagne and being revered by the members means more to her than a marriage where true love abounds.

Good ponts, Lily Rose and Changed Again. If the previous pattern is followed, does this mean that S will take over the group when G is gone? And who will divorce their wife so that they can marry her? After all, someone will have to bring the Word. Just wondering. Because anyone who thinks that someone other than Hargrave FM owns or has any say over the corporation is certainly mistaken.

Yes--thinking otherwise is delusional.

liy rose your used the per word 'charade" when you wrote " second

I can not say for any one else but fro myself. I at some mys relatsionhip to god/ jesus was real, spiritual growth and it was personal. some where there is a fine line that was crossed where it was an act to please and fit in as to not be made an example of publically for being wrog, eveil stantic. jez, nep...

It wa hard for me to "step out of owrd perfect will". The hard truth is after my "walk with God" was no longer personal but directed there was nothing spiritual aat all. It was all abusive

Yes, I hope so. The psychological tactics he uses to deflate the fellowship, or anyone who might challenge his hold over people's lives, has certainly been effective. He's good at what he does, which of course, has nothing to do with building up people's lives so they could have a mature relationship with God (the image of the ministry)--but systematically tearing them down for the purpose of creating dependence. A few benefit, getting what they desire, while the vast, servile majority suffer. So much unnecessary suffering.

p.s. Happy upcoming Passover!

Wow. That is a “cult busting” statement extraordinaire.

----- A DIRECTED LIFE IS NOT A SPIRITUAL LIFE -----

There is a nuts & bolts truth worth pondering in that statement.
