Thank you to Scott and Charity for shining a light in the dark places and for helping us to understand the wrongs that were done by TLWF leaders over the years. We couldn't know. We weren't allowed to know, to share information, to do research and find the truth. For so many years, I blamed myself for things that happened, even when I had nothing to do with the situation. I blamed myself for the death of John Robert Stevens because Gary and Marilyn said that the congregation had killed him. They were and are sick, sick people. No one should be abused like that. It started with JRS. Unfortunately, it continues with Gary Hargrave. Thank you for the truth. <3 <3 <3

Sorry about that. I think you've done an exceptional job moderating this forum for so many years. Kept things on the right track so contributors were less hesitant to share their stories and not be blindsided by bad actors.

Both political parties have sadly resorted to calling each other "cults," which is not helpful, a misuse of the word and it deminishes the genuine suffering of real cult survivors.

That's obviously true, and I will abide by that rule. I've written in this forum since 2006, and prior to that, a couple years on Factnet. I was in this horrendous cult from 1976-1998--and participation in these discussions with other former members of TLWF has been invaluable in my post-cult healing process, of which I remain very grateful. Anyway, I've decided that it is finally time to "move on" and devote myself, for better or worse, to what currently consumes my attention. And so, farewell my friends. It's been a helluva ride!

Thank you for your contribution to this thread, i.e. when you speicifically were focused on the subject matter as titled in this thread.

This thead has helped a lot of people directly or indirectly affected by the Living Word Fellowhips (The Walk) and John Robert Stevens.

Apparently it has played a substantial role in brining victims of abuse forward and together, in sorting through the behavior of the group.

The purpose of this message board is to afford former members of controversial groups and movements, some called "cults," and others affected, a space to discuss and sort through group related issues.

This is not a place to discuss and/or post links about personal interests and/or express political beliefs.
