And the corollary: Be glad that you saw the crazy and got the hell out. Go forth and enjoy being a worthwhile human. ; )

We still have not received an update on the progress being made in the independent investigation conducted independently by those independent of the church and all its independent off-shoots. I guess I have no choice but to continue trying to remain optimistic that the reason everything is taking so long is that former leaders want to make sure no stone is left unturned. It would be a bummer to end the independent investigation prematurely, say after three years or so, only to find out later that Hugo Chavez was the one most responsible for all the abuse. It must be done right!

I have also become aware that those that have left and are speaking out are now referred to as Judas and Proverbs 11:9 by those remaining. I am left wondering precisely what they think we hope to gain by speaking out because we are most certainly not gaining financially. If anything those speaking out have lost friends, family and quite literally years of their lives. My suggestion would be for them to turn those pointing fingers right back at themselves because they are harboring criminals and collaborators and they are cowards. And as far as the remaining churches reconstituting I hope that they realize that they are building on a foundation of disease and perversion, a shaky foundation at best.

I sure don't miss all the pressure to exalt top leadership while in TLWF. Silas was one of the biggest proponents of it...being a recipient, of course.

Post from March of 2017:

Celebration of Oneness through the Holy Spirit
By Silas Esteves March 2nd, 2017

Yesterday, following the conclusion of the School of Prophets, Gary Hargrave and Silas Esteves traveled to Rio de Janeiro to participate in the Rio de Água Viva (River of Living Waters) retreat at the SulAmérica Convention Center. Personally greeted at the parking entrance, Hargrave and Esteves were treated like VIPs as they were led inside and given backstage passes to the event.

. . . this 50th anniversary celebration of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the Catholic church was palpable as row after row of seats held the 7,500 attendees. With a 10-foot high stage and two big screens . . . with the 1,100 confessions and 1,200 conversions.

Arriving in the VIP waiting area, Hargrave and Esteves were greeted by Father Antonio José, whom along with Cardinal Dom Orani João Tempesta, invited them to speak at the event and participate in a special Mass that closed the weekend of celebration.

As time passed connecting with several priests, seminary students, and other evangelical pastors; soon it was time for Hargrave to speak. Throughout his ten-minute message about oneness in the Body of Christ and the special placing of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal in affecting all of Christianity, the crowd continually cried out cheers of approval to what Hargrave was saying. At the close of the message, Father Antonio José used Hargrave and Esteves as a beautiful example of evangelicals that continually pray for Pope Francis, saying that many in the Catholic church need to follow their example and continually pray for the pope.

Hargrave and Esteves were interviewed for Catholic radio and television, reaching out to over ten million believers in all of Brazil and the world, before being escorted to hold a private audience with Cardinal Dom Orani. As the three connected their hearts and drive to see oneness in the Body of Christ through the Holy Spirit, one could see that these three men of God were also dear friends.

Today’s event was a sign of the true oneness that is being realized in the Body of Christ. Blending Hargrave’s and Cardinal Dom Orani’s messages in each of our hearts, it is evident that the Kingdom of God is being established on the earth.

OMG...I hope that "Hargrave and Esteves" can hear my eyes rolling wherever they are.

LOL

I wonder if these men of God are still dear friends? Maybe something happened that put a strain on their relationship.

I wonder if they still cover up for little Ricky Holbrook?

to what Hargrave was saying.

About the only time I can recall receiving cheers of approval was during the mid-90's, when I suggested to our family that perhaps we should leave the church. It turned out to be one of the few times that we had immediate unanimous agreement on a matter of significance...and no need for debate. For a couple seconds or so I felt like a VIP.

with the 1,100 confessions and 1,200 conversions.

That's quite a bit.
