And this is the woman who relieved not one, but 2 women of their husbands--not to mention a little baby girl was left fatherless --sacrificed at the altar of M. Victim? I don't think so. Wicked is the only word that comes to mind.

It won't happen, but I still hold on to the faintest hope that Gary would start serving God and leave everyone else in the fellowship alone. Unfortunately, power-driven people such as G find no satisfaction in simply doing the right thing. Just walking with God without fanfare won't do it. They must have complete control over others, and be perceived as someone of great importance--all in a futile attempt to satiate their malevolent ego. It's a never-ending pursuit. It creates so much unnecessary suffering, especially for those who are subjected to this "ministry."

p.s. obedience, obedience, obedience

Maybe Gary will build a lavish mansion in Brasil. On this secluded island:

I wonder if he could get all the other snakes to submit to him. That would be one heckuva challenge!
"Obey Snake. Your survival depends on it!"
Hiss...

Below is an excerpt from an article by Rick Ross regarding Scientology's efforts to use information control on their members. It looks like they actually market a device that controls what web-based info their devotees can see!

In the LW, members were taught to self-limit their information. One of the first things I was taught, "Do not drink from many fountains." In other words, you should not gather and analyze information from various sources on your own. You will always be too immature. We will spoon feed you the information that you need to know, and we will also tell you what to think about it. Your job is to spout it back to us and others.

[culteducation.com]

"The most basic feature of the thought reform environment, the psychological current upon which all else depends, is the control of human communication [e.g. information]. Through this milieu control the totalist environment seeks to establish domain over not only the individual's communication with the outside (all that he sees and hears, reads or writes, experiences, and expresses). It creates an atmosphere uncomfortably reminiscent of George Orwell's 1984.

They [e.g. Scientology?] look upon milieu control as a just and necessary policy, one which need not be kept secret. At the center of this self-justification is their assumption of omniscience, their conviction that reality is their exclusive possession. Having experienced the impact of what they consider to be an ultimate truth (and having the need to dispel any possible inner doubts of their own), they consider it their duty to create an environment containing no more and no less than this "truth." In order to be the engineers of the human soul, they must first bring it under full observational control".

Yep. Call it what it is.

Cloudwatcher...
JRS, J&M, G&M, MH, GH, take your pick. They are a bunch ego-centric bad actors motivated by greed and power, for sure. I remember a story that Martha once asked John, "Are you feeling a little more divine today?" The faithful were very incensed at the time. Now it seems funny.

That in a nutshell and the very reason my marriage broke up when I left. I was so sick from listening to it I wanted to die.

The younger ones who are now joining the conversation --we need to be here for them This conflict is actually pretty rare on this board--maybe it's the heat or maybe we read things that trigger old reactions--I dunno--let's just do this guys. Love you all.
