Nobody's keeping you from posting about the G-man or TLWF. Quit trying to tell people what to do. Are you trying to be our designated overseer. LOL!!! Here I'm telling you what to do. Just ignore the stuff you don't like.

I was born a poor black child. I remember the days, sitting on the porch with my family, singing and dancing down...
Wait...this is someone else's journey. Please disregard.

Not one ex-member I know of would say anything good about John. Most believe he and his teaching were destructive. None of them were booted out or had a broken up marriage. They just regained their critical thinking skills. You continue to be an apologist for John.

Southgate-that's a pretty offensive thing to say about those who suffered broken marriages or who were booted out. I know a man who ended up with deep depression that originated with ministry he received from JRS and he ended committing suicide. I'm going out on a limb here and I'm going to tell you what to do. You should apologize.

I'm sorry, but my intention was not to offend anyone. I was saying lots of people would not say anything bad about John no matter what. My mom would but my dad wouldn't, at least not openly. I have family members that blamed Marilyn for what happened to John, and I know people who said he was more compassionate afterwards.

For the most part I think all or at least most of the marriage breakups were a bad thing. I wasn't a big fan of people being booted out or shunned so that eventually they left. I wasn't a big fan of the churches being sold to save other churches. From my perspective the Valley church will be next, but who knows, maybe they will sell another to prolong it's demise.

I know there are still people who still attend that are very sweet people. That is why I wouldn't want that to happen.

It's his way of taking a jab at my post, but in his humorous kind of way. I still find his posts funny. LOL!

No--it's an attempt to inject a few lines from The Jerk into this discussion. It was inappropriate, and I apologize. Carry on!

It's been recommended that I write in complete sentences. I'll try. Having been a heavy text-er, I tend to abbreviate. I was recently taking shelter from a tornado in the home of a super Christian family. Each one had their own personal faith journey. Of course, they thought I was "sent" to them for conversion. I get annoyed by evangelizing attempts. When I said that I didn't join the forum to hear about a poster's journey, I meant that that I didn't want them to use their journey to be evangelized by believers or persuaded to atheism by non-believers. Does that make sense?
