It's funny how I never really liked that song...until I left TLWF. Then it made sense, and I listened to it constantly. Thanks for sharing, 40years.
BTW, I'm a bit embarrassed to admit this...but when I was certain no one was around, I would secretly listen to 'Happy Shiny People.' Please keep this between me and you, 40years. Not even my wife knows about this, and I think she reads this forum.

I haven't said enough'

I have nothing further to add.

985,870 page views to date.
If page views suddenly begin dwindling, we can blame Michael Stipe. In that event, I might contact him and let him know that he personally is responsible for the coming demise of this forum. I'm sure he will pretend not to be aware of the discussion here, but I won't let that stop me from pinning the blame on him. I might even suggest he had something to do with John's death.

It's not Happy Clark. He passed on many years ago.

Here’s one of my favorites:

There are ghosts out in the rain tonight
High up in those ancient trees
Lord, I've given up without a fight
Another blind fool on his knees
And all the gods that I've abandoned
Begin to speak in simple tongues
Lord, suddenly I've come to know
There are no roads left to run

Now it's the hour of dogs a-barking
That's what the old ones used to say
It's first light or it's sundown
Before the children cease their play
When the mountains glow like mission wine
And turn gray like a Spanish roan
Ten thousand eyes will stop to worship
And turn away and head on home

She is reaching out her arms tonight
Lord, my poverty is real
I pray roses shall rain down on me
From Guadalupe on her hill
But who am I to doubt these mysteries
Cured in centuries of blood and candle smoke
I am the least of all your pilgrims here
I am most in need of hope

She appeared to Juan Diego
She left her image on his cape
Five hundred years of sorrow
Have not destroyed their deepest faith
But here I am your ragged disbeliever
Old doubting Thomas drowns in tears
As I watched your church sink through the earth
Like a heart worn down through fear

She is reaching out her arms tonight
Lord, my poverty is real
I pray roses shall rain down on me
From Guadalupe on her hill
But who am I to doubt these mysteries
Cured in centuries of blood and candle smoke
I am the least of all your pilgrims here
But I am most in need of hope

I am the least of all your pilgrims here
But I am most in need of hope

Guadalupe

To all those who frequent these virtual halls, I wish you a happy Easter, or Resurrection Day, or day that TLWF eschewed in favor of Passover. In all of Christendom, this is the most holy of all days. It is the reason that there is a Christian religion at all. Interesting that those who considered themselves the most elite and chosen among Christians should ignore such a day. Perhaps celebrating Jesus' resurrection would have taken away from the divine “Christ-in-the-flesh-hood” of the Apostolic Fathering Ministries.

Although, there was one time that G&M had the C/TLW construction guys build several six foot crosses to be carried into the sanctuary during the Sun. AM service on Easter Sunday. They then passed out notecards and pens and instructed each person in attendance to write down the sin that they most wanted dealt with and go nail their "sin" to one of the crosses. I believe, according to New Testament promises, that work on the cross was done and complete over two thousand years ago. But I digress. Details. And then that evening, in the church bar, Rick said that they were considering selling the “sin cards” to the highest bidder.

It is small wonder that those of us who spent many years in this cult often have great difficulty with believing in anything after leaving. The trust is so obliterated that resurrection of belief is unlikely. On this day, of all days, perhaps there is hope. I wish us all hope. <3

So inspirational--thanks for sharing, Reep :)

p.s. we're still getting approx 1000 page views per day, so let's keep up the inspirational stories. They're obviously having an impact!
Eventually views will dwindle, and as I said before, I will blame Michael Stipe for it.

I wonder if one of the sin cards had this confession:
"I witnessed RH sexually abusing ___________, and failed
to report it to law enforcement."
Probably not.
