Prettyboy,

I spent two years explaining to Marilyn how Stevens was an obvious corrupt, lying piece of waste using every women and person he could to build a money-making empire based on their blind faith for something else . . . made no difference. She had created in her mind a need for a fairyland existence where reality had no place, an ethereal escape pod where time for her seemed to standstill, becoming a function of consciousness eating into the future and expanding with the duration it accumulated . . . she began to act with her entire past behind her, erasing all but two kids she couldn't deny, still making up a divined future while enlisting the unknowing gullible to vindicate the improbable . . . I don't know, but it's likely that if it hadn't been for Stevens it would have just been something or someone else that fit her need to become a different person with a different goal . . . .

Regards,

Dick

Greetings from Radio Free Land,

Richard M., putting your story together with a quote from 40yearsin2016 that changedagain recently reposted, it is clear to me now that Marilyn was the means by which The Walk/TLWF continued to control so many lives past June 4, 1983.

From 40yearsin2016:

“One of the first phone calls to us from Marilyn after John's death was to insist that our monthly tithes had to be increased... no pressure but...

Shortly afterward we heard that Marilyn had initiated a legal effort to take over title of our local church real estate. Her efforts were only thwarted because JRS only had one vote on the board of the local church corp. I remember being told this set-up was partly to prevent Martha from ever having access... the irony of it all.”

From Richard M.:

Marilyn did indeed abandon her former life to hitch her wagon to JRS' star when he was in the zenith of his popularity. But then she rose further, and became the main attraction herself. And along with a certain opportunistic pastor who abandoned his family to be with her, built herself an empire upon the imprisoned souls of those who remained. A sorry legacy.

Reepicheep, makes sense. There are more personal events that I won't reveal for obvious "family" reasons that would more paint Marilyn as a changed two or three-timer with men whom she previously would have dismissed and disavowed as liking her for only her looks. But she then used that asset plus "other talents" as operant lure for a higher need for income through power over others. She had to, having had no other significant job related experience or income. When you put it all together, she needed willing victims to overcome her own inequities . . . . but in the end, no one can escape without paying the price . . . one way or another.

As an aside, what happened to the income property on Brighten Ave. in Burbank that Marilyn got by divorce from me? Just curious, didn't have much equity anyway.

Richard M. - The Brighton house was rented to 2 girls/women who eventually moved into the Blix house and the Brighton house was sold. Do you remember the street number? I am still friends with one of the gals who lived there and then moved to Blix. She got out of the church decades ago. Smart gal.

Your posts have always made sense to me, 40yearsin2016. And no, that does not automatically mean I regard you as a nephilim channel :)
Even if it did, I'm still a little tired from the day & night violent proclamations of the 70's, so no worries about death prayers heading your way any time soon.

dear merries/forum followers,
is it possible that this steam-rolling train is losing some of its steam and, if so, hargraves and minions are exulting. i propose that "they" would prefer that this forum did not exist but it does. i also propose that "they" are winning this battle, playing the long game while this steam-rolling train runs out of steam. so given this sentiment/perspective, i make a suggestion. "they" do not like light shining into their darkness and this forum has given some light to former lw members and even current members struggling with where their allegiance will lead. why not amp up the conversation and bring in a greater exposure to the lw ruse? yes, the media. the kalona news and the cedar rapids gazette have reported on lw/shiloh but those reports are bereft of the full story. the full story exists in this forum's testaments from multiple contributors. why not go supremely public and alert news organizations like the kalona news, cedar rapids gazette, des moines register, LA times, maybe even john oliver's show, etc.; alert them to this forum's posts, all of them? do any of the merries think this a bad idea, especially regarding one's sense of privacy. my sense is that the forum's bubble is not enough and hargraves will escape with his millions. why not make the attempt to shine a greater light, turn plowshares into swords?

happy trails, all
prettyboy

Sounds like the definition of a prostitute to me.

There's certainly enough material here--from multiple, credible sources. The worst that could happen is the media ignores it, not wanting to get entangled with the former leaders of this travesty. And perhaps the public has grown weary of the titillating (sorry for the use of this word) behavior of cult leaders--and the subject matter is no longer considered interesting enough to draw the sustained attention of readers/viewers. Thank you social media for deadening our senses :)

967,746 page views to date.
Note: If this forum begins experiencing a severe decline in page views, I think we can reasonably blame the most recent contributors for this happening. But no matter how disappointing this development might be, I personally will resist the urge to buy yet another bottle of whiskey from Costco under the pretense of helping me through a tough time period. Maybe I'll just start exercising more, drinking water and start a garden. Not sure.
