To Past and Present Members of The Living Word Fellowship ChurchesLike you, we were profoundly saddened by the reports of sexual misconduct from a former member of our congregation. We have become aware of other allegations of misconduct, in part through recent correspondence from current and former members of our congregation.
The Living Word Fellowship takes seriously its duty to ensure the safety of its congregation and the integrity of its leadership. We are committed to conducting a thorough investigation of any and all acts of alleged sexual and related misconduct reported.
To this end, and as promised, The Living Word Fellowship has appointed a neutral, independent investigator to head up an investigative committee to investigate these claims.
Aisha Shelton Adam of the Reddock Law Group will lead the investigation of specific reports received recently by The Living Word Fellowship and will investigate any new allegations of sexual misconduct against current or former members of The Living Word Fellowship congregation that we may receive.
She will be assisted, as appropriate, by Rick Harris, a Pastor and a retired Los Angeles Police Department Officer, and Jeff Cortina, a Sergeant and former Detective with the Los Angeles Police Department.
Shelton Adam will review The Living Word Fellowship’s records to determine whether the Living Word Fellowship received previous reports of alleged sexual misconduct and, to the extent such allegations exist, Ms. Shelton Adam will further investigate or follow up with those reports as warranted. Ms. Shelton Adam will have full access to The Living Word Fellowship personnel and all necessary files and records in order to support her investigation.
Neither Ms. Shelton Adam, nor anyone from the Reddock Law Group, nor Mr. Harris has worked previously for The Living Word Fellowship or has any existing connections to The Living Word Fellowship.
Cortina has been a congregant of Church of the Living Word, a Living Word Fellowship Church, since 1994, and may participate in the investigation to the extent Ms. Shelton Adam deems appropriate.
The specific scope of the investigation will be incidences of sexual misconduct or other inappropriate physical interaction occurring within any of the churches of The Living Word Fellowship from the early 1990’s (when the Apostolic Company was formed) until the present.
We strongly encourage anyone with knowledge of any sexual misconduct by any current or past leaders or staff at any of The Living Word Fellowship churches to contact Aisha Shelton Adam right away:

Shelton Adam will safeguard the identity of anyone who reports information to her confidentially, if the individual wishes; and
She will not share that identity in her final report or anywhere else without the individual’s consent, except in situations where law mandates a report to government authorities or where, in the judgment of the committee, a report to those authorities is necessary to protect a minor from harm.
These actions reflect The Living Word Fellowship’s genuine commitment to examining all reports and allegations of sexual misconduct.
