I'm not going anywhere---hell no. Is that what it sounded like? I just had a moment of appreciation for all of you---but that was not a farewell

First time posting. I have been following this thread off and on for years. It has been helpful to finally learn some of the history and stories that were never aloud to be discussed growing up in the TLWF.

I really don’t have much to add here except this.

Definitely follow the money!! The person running TLWF accounting for the last 10 years is a known embezzler. The leaders knew her past and hired her anyway.

She is a master manipulator and was able bankrupt her boss in San Diego in 2003-2004. She stole hundreds of thousands of dollars to support her gambling addiction. She ran back to her parents in Shiloh after she was caught. Her dad is a long time shepherd in Shiloh and covered for her. All of the San Diego leaders knew and so did the TLWF overseers. If shady things are going on there she is definitely involved.

I have been concerned about this since learning she was working back in accounting. Not necessarily that she would steal money outright again but concerned for the lack of integrity that would lead one down that road to begin with.

Until now I was willing to put these concerns aside as I trusted the leadership. Now it all seems to fit nicley, who better to have running the accounting than someone with this kind of past.

Hi Hopeful.Now--an appropriate username for many of us finally seeing light at the end of the tunnel.

I hear we have people checking into the financial aspects of the cult. I think we all know it's highly probable that are/were shenanigans in this area, but I would advise we let the facts surface rather than speculate. After sexual abuse, this is likely the most explosive issue.
Anyway, welcome aboard!

A lot of people are trying to hold on to JRS and his teachings in the midst of this and that is heart breaking because he was a rabid perpetrator himself. He consciously and actively created deception to hide his wrongdoing. He gave innocent people (some ministries) words to do things that he needed done to protect his secrets.

This included giving a word to get married to a young couple when he knew the young woman was pregnant with his child. He kept this deception going until the day he died. He actively created this deception by pretending he had a word from God when really he was motivated by his own fear of getting caught. The family he created with his deception turned out to be a family of very fine people - none of the circumstances reflect on them - but the carefully plotted deception did much to disabuse me of my belief that every word spokenby JRS was a word from God.

I don't think this can be emphasized enough. I believe that is exactly what people will do, try to hold on to JRS and his teachings. Having left decades ago, in my eyes, JRS could still do no wrong. It was a piece of my thinking that I have only recently let go of. This will be very difficult for some people to do.

"Merriam-Webster: The cult's charismatic leader had managed to persuade ...rational people to obey him blindly."

Bingo! What Onion and kbyrne said.

p.s. I've been warned many times not to focus on this, that it is irrelevant and actually counterproductive to the discussions here, but I'm in contrary mood today, and feel compelled to point out that this particular discussion has had over 611,000 page views to date. King David, of course, was warned by God not to rely on numbers, but as I've told everyone in my orbit, and many complete strangers as well, 'I am NOT King David! Stop putting that trip on me!!'
Anyway, hope everyone is having a good day :)

p.s. if a month from now there has been few additional page views, we will all know who to blame (not me).
