Thank you all for the continued dialog and thoughtful analysis of the impact that CLW, JRS. G & M had on you ... I still struggle to understand how ANYONE could continue to fall for this. For the most part they are wonderful, smart people. I guess the allure of being a member of the elite that is uniquely right and hearing certainty from the pulpit in times of confusion and uncertainty is the reason. It simplifies things. But what wreckage (us!) is left behind ... a small price to pay??! That is where the real harm happens, I think ... and that is what we have to shed ...

Something interesting I found on the LGAT (Large Group Awareness Training) thread: [forum.culteducation.com]

We've learned that sleep deprivation, even mild sleep deprivation
compromises mental acuity and by extension, critical thinking.

Now there is an additional factor: dehydration.

If you are in an LGAT and *if* they're running the air conditioning cold, drying out the air and if they don't give you free access to water, you can get dehydrated.

Anybody remember "Apostolic temperature"?
(This was before people carried water bottles.)

And don't even get me started on other times and places that members became dehydrated. (YASP, Shiloh, etc.)

Good to hear from you, dbc. I agree with your analysis. Feeling like you are part of the called, the chosen, the remnant can be irresistible and hard to disavow. How do you go from that to just being a mortal person? They make the exit costs extremely high. Giving up a constant state of hyperactivity, sleep deprivation and higher calling for a more mundane existance takes a definitive and calculated break with the cult. You could just stay and keep your friends, family and purpose. Are they asking so much? Such a small price, continuing in abject submission to "christ in the flesh". All you have to do is to ignore your inner voice. You need only give up any shred of dignity and self-esteem that you have left. Either staying or leaving comes with a hefty price tag.

Going Roque - You are a brilliant writer. Never stop expressing yourself.

As another individual who found the hefty price tag of escape irresistable, I appreciate you and the others who write on this forum.

You are so correct. For myself and the others I have been reading since I joined up, we are all expressing concern for others and well s our stages of healing. I think that the statement, "for the most
> part we're considerate and actually have some
> concern for the well being of others--which I
> think distinguishes us" is a key to why we who have found each other are here.

AMEN! Going Rouge
Reading the most current threads I am seeing strong, healthy people writing that can make sound decisions as adults who are well hydrated, and well rested.

We are not vulnerable to some self proclaimed shepherd. We DO have a voice- a real voice from deep within our god-given right to speak for our selves and to see for our selves and to think for ourselves and to prove for our selves what the word of God speaks to us vs what is interpreted for us to have made us feel like we had no choice but to stay "imprisoned."

We should not have to fear an illusion of power that some leadership never ever had over us...smoke and mirrors...illusions of God that they never possessed.

We are free. WE are free. We ARE free to seek god, spirituality, love and more for ourselves.
