The sheeps shortcomings will be forgiven when the sheeps wallet is empty. Its at times of "obedience" that my a** hole puckers and I know exactly whats coming next.

Interesting conclusion on your end NickleandDimed, due to the fact that per the many studies on cults / mind control, etc... there is a near split in thought process between psychologists. I am assuming that you were at one time, if not currently in TLW? Which makes it all the more baffling for me to comprehend your apparent conclusion. I will agree to disagree with you on this.

As we know, there are numerous studies on cults / mind control. Below is a link that I found to be interesting.

None of the legal structures of TLWF etc. are that strong and certainly are far from bulletproof. The attorney relied upon by these organizations has never done anything in the law except draft documents that no one has ever taken the time (or had the balls) to challenge. She has less court experience than anyone who has ever challenged a traffic ticket and certainly has no analytic experience concerning litigation of any kind.

If a 501(c)3 (like the churches, apco, etc.) goes off the rails and improperly uses church funds (as I believe they already do on a grand scale) then no one should be afraid to challenge it in courts or thru the IRS if you have the time, knowledge and funding. The courts/IRS have their own interests in guarding against misuses of offerings by greedy leaders. Don't forget Jim and Tammy Baker and their excesses and how they were held to answer.

People who have a wonderful time having parties and designing lavish party pads and shows etc. etc. and never even take the time to pretend they are a minister of the word to the people whose time and money they so gleefully use, should and hopefully will be held to answer at some point - hopefully sooner than later.

Here’s a basic question. Does anyone know what the total membership headcount was at the peak of the Living Word’s heyday? Was is 5000 members?

Onion, don't the TLWF bylaws say something about a mediator chosen by the TLWF or Apostolic Fathering Ministries in case of disputes? Would that ever hold up? Also, I don't think that those were ever read and certainly not signed by the congregations, so how could they be held to that?

I agree in that there are many ways to peel this Onion if one so desires. Taking them apart (legally) would be easy ( as they appear to be in a precarious position ) but what you will pay a lawyer may exceed any award. more accurately getting judgement is only a small part of the battle. Collecting is the big job.

The bylaws state that there is no court and no mediation but that APCO decides all matters and their word is final. This only applies to civil matters and disputes over theology or money or property. This statement has NO effect on issues like tax evasion, fraud, fraud in the inducement etc. States laws vary greatly. The "restated" by laws are available on the State of Californians website for corporate records. Search CHURCH OF THE LIVING WORD. Great reading if your looking to ferret out weasels.
