Thanks for the links, FactoverFiction. Shiloh U sounds like more of a scam than the old-fashioned KB means used to "take over the financial realm". Still only benefitting the guy at the top...using and abusing volunteers or near-volunteers. The difference? Selling the "product" (which is of highly dubious value) to their captive audience within the LW. And worse yet, selling it to kids. Geez--another generation of young people in major debt and completely unprepared for gainful employment. Sad...

Yes, sad. Hopefully someone will intervene and steer these kids in the right direction (at least away from Shiloh U). The chance to have meaningful employment, as everyone knows, is an important factor in a person's well-being.

Good points Factoverfiction. Parents can take control. To prevent being scammed. Diploma mills been around for decades. Don't think Shiloh U would be considered that. But if you do contact an agency. Ask to investigate if Shiloh U is just a diploma mill? Unaccredited colleges are growing. In the online market. Usually because they are cheaper. Parents can ask? Does Shiloh U offer competitive pricing? Are they overpriced. For an unaccredited college. Often whether or not. An unaccredited college will hurt you in the job market. Depends on the career field. You want to enter. Discussed with a career counselor. Is there any career counseling advice from
Shiloh U. Is it based on data from graduating students. And the jobs. If any. They got.

Received the sad news yesterday that Carolyn Eckstrom passed away last Sunday night. Carolyn was a part of the Redlands church for many years while I was there. A very sweet lady. She and her husband (Danny) were very supportive and hospital to me and my family while were going through some very difficult times.
I never forgot that. RIP Carol

second correction: Caroline, not Carolyn. My wife and I knew her as Carol.
We left Redlands in '89...and the church shut down a few years later.

I agree. This is very sad news. Carol was a very kind human. Very loving person. She will be very much missed.

Caroline was a deaf interpreter. She couldn't have been that old. Believe she lived in Honolulu. My condolences. To her family and children.

We also lost Becky Bailey, wife of the late Leland Bailey, a few weeks ago. They were friends from the Grand Junction, Colorado area.

Thanks CA and FSCLC for posting about Caroline and Becky. Isn't it interesting how the diaspora of those we cared about so many years ago in the LW still affects us. I did a goggle search to see if I maybe knew Caroline. I don't think so, but it seems according to info I read that her death was totally unexpected and was possibly flu related. I didn't know Becky very well. But I do recall during a road trip through Colorado that we stopped over at the church which also had a house in which the Baileys were living. We went with Becky to pick wild asparagus from the ditch banks. Even to this day, sometimes when I buy asparagus at the store, I remember picking wild asparagus with Becky. It's one nice memory of a time that for the most part I would like to forever erase forever from my mind.
