As an aside...
I recall trying to lure my older brother into the fellowship in the late 70's, providing him a 'This Week'--thinking he would be overwhelmed by the anointing that saturated the pages, and demand to be part of the movement. He read it in front me (fast reader), handed it back, and simply said it was "hypnotic." That was that. He was clearly annoyed that I wasted 3-4 minutes of his life.

note: unfortunately, although he was spared the misery of the cult, years later he was done in by a combination of schizophrenia and street drugs. And no, I don't think what happened to him was a result of him rejecting a "living word" years earlier. Life is unpredictable--or hasn't anyone noticed?

To be clear, I didn't rip into Apostle Dog to get him to leave the forum. I ripped into him because of his homophobic remarks. I have beloved family members and friends who are outside the mainstream I have grown to have no patience whatsoever for discrmination or intolerance. Especially from Christians, who are supposed to be the standard bearers for compassion.

Chime on, Southgate

Though I agree that we are getting off topic. Love to all.

I gave a This Week to my dad (a church going Christian). He said the guy who wrote this is a jackass.

A scene from my video series--'The Horrible Street Evangelist':
"Excuse me sir...have you read 'The Line is Drawn?' No? Would you like my copy? I don't need it anymore.
Hey--you don't have to be so rude. A simple 'no' would suffice. YOU HAVE NO COVERING, BTW!!"

And the man reappeared a few minutes later with a hack saw.

Attention forum members. Tomorrow bulk pick-up will be in your neighborhood. Place all THIS WEEK boxes curbside and clearly marked to Hand over to Satan for the Destruction of the Contents.
