LILY ROSE:

It was the Roman Catholic Church, but forgetfulness works wonders if it advances your career.

If you have an old copy of the First Principles, there is a lesson about Babylon in there. I recall that it read exactly like the book "Babylon Mystery Religion", which claimed that Babylon was the RC church.

However, sometime in the 90's the LW reissued a new edition of the First Principles, and most of this lesson had been sanitized to soften the anti RC teaching. I never saw this new edition, so I can't comment on how much got removed. I discarded my LW literature years ago.

Maybe G-man could give a message about forgetting Submission, he could go on a roll.

Yes
I've read from a few posters on this forum, familiar with his early days, stating he rose quickly up the authority chain after joining the fellowship in SD. One poster said he was an assistant pastor within 6 months. If so, how did that happen? Perhaps just more dedicated, submissive than his peers?

I don't think that was difficult. I saw a lot of that in San Diego. All you really had to do was suck up to RD and say the right stuff and you were on your way. This is not to say these guys were "fakes", in fact, most were quite passionate about the "party line", the "word" du jour, etc. All you really had to do was listen to the tapes, learn how to talk the talk and you were on your way. At some point RD would be impressed and would start promoting you to the likes of JRS, etc.

This didn't work well for me, I tended to be objective, scientific and questioned everything -- too much of an engineers perspective I guess. I remember sitting down with my wife and deciding we weren't cut out for this thing and we just stopped attending and never looked back.
