THE SCHOOL OF PROPHETS RESTORES OUR TRUST IN OUR FATHER

Newsflash: Gary isn't God-the-father. He's not
even a proper Father. Check out his family
history. Ask the other kids what they think of their
loving "Dad".

Funny how Gary manages to always visit Brazil during Carnival... Rio's annual weekend long party that puts any party we've ever attended to shame.

Maybe Baal worship will subject Gary to airport screening under Trump travel ban.

“THE SCHOOL OF PROPHETS RESTORES OUR TRUST IN OUR FATHER”

I’ve mentioned it before, but I think it bears repeating. For some strange reason, JRS seems to be a sacred cow that nobody wants to objectively look at. You don’t get good fruit from a bad tree – and Jesus taught us to look at the fruit so we would not be deceived. Imagine what it would take for you to want to see the destruction of your own parents, wife, and kids. That is not God’s heart towards family – even if you think they want to take the resources others have given to God that you covet for yourself. The desire to kill, steal, and destroy does not come from God. Jesus informed his disciples of this when they wanted to call down fire on those they perceived to be their enemies.

Jesus taught that we are to honor our father and mother and rebuked the Pharisees when they tried to wiggle out of it with their custom teaching. John was not honoring towards his parents, nor was he an example to his own children of a good father – unless you admire prophesying their destruction. Calling him a spiritual father is just smoke and mirrors to cover up his lack as a natural father. Jesus is very clear about calling no man father – and when we ignore his instruction, we are the ones who suffer.

Gary followed John’s example and cut off his own daughter. If you cannot be a good steward of a natural relationship, do you really think God is going to entrust you with spiritual relationships in His kingdom? On the other hand, if you have been faithful to be destructive to you own flesh and blood, maybe you will be faithful to be destructive to others in the body of Christ and can be useful to the enemy. I’m not sure if “God in the sky” is back in the picture again or if Gary is referring to himself in the title of this message, but the true God has no need to restore our trust. He is 100% faithful 100% of the time. He is not a man that He should lie.

It’s those who have claimed they were Him, and were not, that have created issues of mistrust. True leaders lead by example, not as overlords. You have to resort to “divine order” when your personal life is in shambles and there is no good example that will be of benefit to others. When it’s legit, you look for ways to serve, not be served. Someday it will become evident that the money that has flowed out of the pockets of followers into Hargrave Family Ministries was actually a con, and the current level of mistrust will only be greater. Remember not to blame God when it happens – eventually all of us will have to give an account.

A lot of us are like abused children who still love and are attached to the abuser. We loved John, but the fruit of his life and therefore the Walk was self-delusion, self-aggrandizement, broken marriages, serial marriages, no marriages (fornication), substance abuse, dysfunctional families, dishonesty, lack of transparency, occult practices, exploitation, financial scams, and untethered spirituality (meaning unBiblical). Permeating all was an unloving, judgmental, harsh, critical attitude toward outsiders, and the same toward insiders not toeing the line. The truth is, John was bad news. Maybe there can’t be any freedom from Walk conditioning until we’re ready to let the big guy go.

WOW! Cowabunga dude I think you just drove home the first nail.
I concur with your synopsis and could not have articulated it any better save adoing a few other sick side effects. Root cause analysis appears complete and accurate to me.

Twoteetwo drops the mic and exits stage left. Audio feedback....
Done.
Brought the whole thread to halt.

Wow. My cup runneth over this week. Thank you all for the input and insights. Shaking off the dust of the LW has been a process for me. Whether you feel robbed or destroyed or feel others were robbed or destroyed, I think we pulled down strong holds in our minds. Sorry for resurrecting that phrase--hope it doesn't cause anyone a PTSD flashback--but I think that's what posting does.

I recently talked with a pastor who actually has a real PhD in Theology– not an unaccredited version from a school nobody has ever heard of - that knew John in California prior to the Walk. He was already having issues relating to other pastors, and there were genuine concerns about him when he was excommunicated from the AOG church. It was a much more serious matter than any of us knew in TLWF. If John was really serious about confirmation from mature leaders, it was certainly available to him. Instead, he gave them the middle finger and we ended up being the recipients of his rebellion. He was not open at all to shepherding in his own life, yet he demanded absolute control over others.

At this point, I should make it clear that I don’t think the whole shepherding thing is even scriptural. Jesus said to “call no man teacher – you have one teacher and it’s the Christ and you are all brothers”. The point I’m trying to make is that John required of others something that he was not willing to do himself. The same thing is true of the current leadership of TLWF.

There is plenty of healthy input available to TLWF if they were sincerely after the truth. I honestly do not think they are. Instead, they isolate themselves from other believers in order to maintain control over their followers – a classic cult technique. What do you suppose other church leaders would have said to G&M about starting their relationship prior to John’s death and then Gary divorcing his wife and abandoning his daughter to marry Marilyn? All this of course was to further the kingdom and they were only being submissive to John. I’ve mentioned this to other pastors and they laugh, thinking I couldn’t possibly be serious. What really gets their attention though as being way off track is when they find out we would substitute Marilyn’s name for God's name in worship songs. It really is idolatry – not the kingdom of God.

It seems that John the Baptist didn't get along with others either. Jesus really didn't go along with the status quo at the time, but then again he was Jesus. Why are there so many other denominations in the U.S.? Because they all believe and teach the same thing? I'm not saying John Stevens was perfect, but for whatever reason, he's getting a lot of blame for things that I don't think are true. I know some people thought he was God in the Flesh, but from all the This Weeks and other literature I've read he never said he was and warned people from doing so.
