There was a time in my life when I believed the Walk had a monopoly on flying high in the heavenlies. Leaving the Walk meant leaving everything that was mystical/spiritual.

Being free out in the world is better than being an abused underling in a church that stresses submission (imo), but it’s a little precarious if you don’t have any power or a power base to draw upon. I suppose this is what was referred to as ‘the covering’.

Doing it yourself takes some time, but one thing is for sure, the approval or disapproval of others becomes meaningless. Finding like minded people on the internet is always helpful---(you find out that your not the only one)---not available to the billions of truth seekers in the ages past. We are blessed.

What will the future bring to the Living Word?

If I may speculate, here's my predictions.....

I predict that with membership dropping, churches will continue to
shut down. I suspect that DC will be next, then
San Diego. SD already closed down their school which was a source of
income for them. With so little members in
place and with about 80% of tithes being sent to the APCO support
funds, there is little funds left to pay for the water
and lights, etc. Like it has always been, the local church is
squeezed hard and has little to work with. But it must be
even worse now. So probably DC, then San Diego and then, possibly
Palmer Lake and eventually Grants Pass and
Shiloh.

When these facilities shut down, the equity of the real estate has to
go somewhere, right? It would be interesting to
track where those funds go. About 10 years ago, a separate
corporation was setup by Gary and Marilyn. It had
a name like "Hargrave Family Ministries". It is G&M's nest egg. I
suspect that funds have been slowly moving
from the LW corporations over into this new corporation.

If you look at what a corporation invests in, you can get an idea of
what their true mission is. While the LW publicly
states that it is all about "preserving John's word", the actions
indicate something else. There has been quite a bit
of buying up of houses in the LA area around the church. So who holds
those titles? Do they end up being shifted over
to Hargrave Family Ministries? If they start out as LW owned and
get shifted, who will stand and oppose that kind
of action. No one. No one has the nerve to question what G&M (and
Rick Holbrook) are doing. They can do anything
they want to now. Anyone with integrity has left, been run out of the
church or forced into retirement.

Another prediction: Marilyn will pass away. Gary will try to hold it
together and it will be very taxing on him. Eventually
killing him. Then the mantle will pass to someone. Who the heck
would that be? Matt Walkoe? Rich Lindy? Bruce and Gilee
Larsen? Jason Sayer? Eventually, it will unravel and Rick Holbrook
will be left, holding the nest egg. I suspect there
have been millions of dollars packed away in real estate investments.
Some folks who have seen it, estimate that G&M's
new house in Hawaii is worth about 10 million. And that's just one
property. All of this will probably go to Rick.

So the Living Word of tomorrow will probably be a small group that no
longer holds religious services, but only does stuff
like 4th of July shows, Magical Christmas Trucks and Halloween Haunted
Houses. Stuff that Millionaire Rick likes to do.
(oh and women for Rick - lots of women). : )

So I suppose this could very well be the ultimate result of Marilyn and Gary pushing the 'upward flow' year upon year to members of the fellowship?
It's likely a little different than what many probably envisioned.

John 19:38 “After these things Joseph of Arimathea, being a disciple of Jesus, but a secret one for fear of the Jews, asked Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus; and Pilate granted permission. So he came and took away His body.”

Secret disciple? (Not much LW teaching about that) Matthew 27:57 says he was well off. Instead of getting criticized, he gets an honorable mention in all four gospels of the Word of God for all ages to come.

I like the concept of ‘secret disciple’. Secret disciples can say ‘no’ or just flat out lie or deny whenever they encounter bullies or certain ones (groups) seeking to exploit them. They can be wise as serpents in all situations. They are not obligated to give an honest answer.

Why didn’t we receive teaching about enablement, independence and God given rights? Why was it predominantly about being a bondservant, submission, giving up our own will, always taking the back seat, having relationship checkouts, tithing messages, triple tithing messages, vows of poverty, getting permission to go on vacations, having to send our children to special kingdom schools or be raised by those who were deemed better kingdom approved? Why did we have to tip toe around the elite shepherds so as not to displease them?

Instead of being enabled, I became disabled both emotionally and spiritually.

Where is the liberation of the creation from its subjection to futility? Did those in the so called “know” get it wrong? Or was it just another carrot put out in front of us for further exploitation?

Is the ten million dollar home in Hawaii a sure sign that certain ones don’t expect a liberated creation, but rather a continuation of the jungle nature and survival of the fittest from which they have so lavishly insulated themselves?

We struggle in poverty while they live as kings----all on our dime.

The predictions in the two above posts can be banked on. Actions are certainly speaking louder than any living word to the contrary. Thank You. They are informative and in a way a closing to chapters of life gone by. Chapters for which I was hoping would have a better ending.

Here's another prediction: Bruce and Gilee Larson will end up getting sued by someone. They are getting sloppy with their spiritual abuse. And when they end up in court, guess who won't be there to support them?

I am so loiving these predictions!!! Rick is the heir to the Hargraves Ministry trust.... I do wonder about Marti....if Rick will share with her..... I think she gave it all up in order to be left alone with her partner Leslie.

"How the mighty have fallen"!! Once it goes.... what shall we all alk about on this message board???

We could spend a great deal of time theorizing about how big heaven needs to be in order to ensure that we never cross paths again with these “infected” alpha/bully/leader/commando/manipulating/intruding......... type personalities.

I remember, after JRS died, Gary said on a taped word that it was essentially over for John back in 1974 (I think that was the year he said), but they needed to keep the people busy so they came up with the unending intersession for him. Thanks Gary, I didn't realize you were in charge of our lives.

My prediciton: Gary and Mare move to Europe saying the Lord wants them to do in Europe what they have done here. Of course they would take the funds with them leaving everyone here to fend for themselves.
Just my opinion.

Europe? maybe. I used to think it was going to be Brazil for them. They need to be out of the US, so the law can't reach them. But maybe Brazil is no good either because the little people in the churches down there could legally press them. So I'm thinking they might buy up a small island in Fiji like some other cult leaders have done. (Like Franklin Jones, for example). They have to be in a country that does not have a LW church in it.
