This is set to be one of the worst sex abuse scandals that the world and especially Tibetan Buddhist world has ever seen. This con man has been on a sex abuse spree for over 15 years. He has been operating out of a number of cities; London, New York, Miami and Dharmasala home to the Tibetan government in exile. Michael Lyons has a prior criminal record. He had rape charges against him in the UK in 2002/2003 and went to court, but was not convicted. Then in 2006, two warrants were released for his arrest by the Sapphire Squad of the London Metropolitan Police. This is a specialist sex crimes unit. Since then, twenty women have come forward to the New York District Attorney’s office and others have made anonymous reports. Very recently in Miami two women came forward to the Miami police and made a report. Mr. Lyons is also being pursued by the FBI. In total, over 300 women have come forward.


Michael Lyons was charged with multiple counts of rape and sexual assault. The criminal trial is expected to be held in London in 2008. The contact for the detective in the UK is: Nicholas Giles.

mohan is a complete freak! i am soooo glad he was finally busted. i hung out in south beach around that group 2003 or 2004?...for a couple of months. i thought the group was a Buddhist meditation group..i mean he even had Buddhist from Tibet staying in the next apartment and sponsored them on there trips here? And i couldn't figure out why they never saw how odd/strange and perverted he was? mohan and a few of his girls would offer acupuncture...this is how i met him...he was suppose to be a "healer/Buddhist/acupuncturist"....and i did receive free treatments...you could always drop by any day and eat dinner vegetarian/vegan...and then sit in meditation..he always gave me a hard time about eating raw vegan..which i came to see he would criticize something..anything about you to gain some sort of "control". At first it seemed like a little spiritual group...with Osho..being the inspiration?...BUT he IS a sexual freak. he tried to push his way onto me....and he did do the odd "smoke" purification thing...which was just an opportunity for him to get a look at your breasts. his side kicks Do recruit women..i watched them sit at a cafe and then jump up when mohan saw a Girl he liked. Alex is his little right hand london/austrailian side kick...who, by the way still OWES me $400...in a friendly gesture ...helping out Alex's best friend.... so...if your reading this Alex...why don't you pay up?
I am SURE there are many. many, many girls in South Beach he abused.

Thanks for the post, rawfoodlives. However, I would caution there is no need for a "BUT" in that passage. ANY group that uses Osho as an inspiration is going to have sexual freaks and predators, so be warned for the future! The Osho apologists are an incredibly active bunch and it always amazes me how many times I read things like "Yeah, Ma Sheela had her bad moments like with the bioweapons lab... but Osho was a great teacher!"

hi dora..ok as i remember?..he had one of the "girls" prepare either sage or copal...on a large platter then he would take you outside or into another room and blow the smoke or wave the smoke toward you.in a purification type of fashion...but to make sure you were fully cleansed or something...he would lift your top..and if you weren't wearing a bra..all the same....it's was just one of his "gimmicks".
he let you think everything he did was....."special" this is what he wanted you to believe. if you were the/a "new" girl to come over to the apartment for the first time....you know..... fresh pressed juice or special food..just for "you'..and it made you wonder why no one else was offered the juice?..only you and him.
i have sent the article posted on Orato.com...to a bunch pf people here in miami beach who know him....everyone is like..it's about time..... except for some of the males/guys...who thought he was sooooo special and not the freak everyone kept calling him.

However, I would hardly portray his actions as a “gimmick” to describe his illegal and deviant behavior. “Fresh pressed juice and special food for the new girls” is a common thread in all of the victims accounts. It is suspected that drugs were used to sedate the new recruits, therefore the explanation for “special food.” And yes, he would like everyone to think he’s “special” all the while he’s breaking down the defense mechanisms of his innocent victims; belittling them, verbally and physically abusing them, and destroying every past experience, memory and relationship to shatter their very foundation. He will take down any past relationship and destroy all family ties to gain his edge in controlling his victims and to further isolate them from any outside influence. His actions are deliberate and pre-meditated. Since Mohan is not special and lacks spiritual power, he has to rely on trickery to earn his living the only way he knows how; through deception. Unfortunately, this is a sad reality for many of his followers to swallow. I hope that in hearing accounts like yours, other followers will begin to open their eyes so they too may see the error of his ways.



Any news as to what his Miami/New York groupies are up to now that Mohan is indisposed?

I have a friend who is involved with Mohan and his group. I desperately want to help her but have no clue where to start. If anyone out there has been apart of his group, and has been able to leave, I would greatly appreciate any advice. Thank you.
