Hi, all. I am starting this thread to be a safe-posting area for fans and followers of Harold Camping who may want to vent/seek help on the newest and most widely reported of his failed prophecies.

There are christians, jews, and secularists here who can help.

How are you coping with the latest let-down from Rev. Camping? Will you continue to follow him and listen? Are you seeking main-stream churches for fellowship and help since his latest failed prophecy?

If anyone is interested, a journalist began covering the Harold Camping end-of-the-world movement before the end of the world failed to materialize (both times). A year later, he revisited the people he'd come to know (those who would still talk to him), and here are his results:

It's a shocking and terribly sad tale in most cases, but the article identifies how these crazy-cakes cults manage to hornswoggle very bright, intelligent, highly educated people, and just how far these very people will go when they believe.

We use to listen to him as truckers on the radio and after several of his sermons we immediately recognized something was not right. There are usually two human response's fight or flight in survival. When there is neither than we must ask ourselves why? What makes us stay, or endure to continue to listen and I believe this is where we can get into trouble. The bible speaks of faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God/Bible, and when a person is expounding on the Bible we immediately think and feel, or assume that he or she knows what they are talking about, we may feel inadequate to trust God on our own for a clarity of the HOLY SCRIPTURES for ourselves. Because I believe we all thirst and hunger for God and or a relationship with Him, there are satanic forces out there who will go at every length to keep Gods children from coming into Gods best. Since there are demon doctrines such that are full of Christ like terminology and Christ like rhetoric that poss themselves as ministers of Righteousness' with so called forms of godliness we are to trusting and somewhat lazy to search scriptures and Gods wisdom about what someone says about what God says is true and the scriptures command we seek God and become diligent stewards to see if these things be so. We also know that if we actively do not seek to be these defensive warriors of Gods Word/bible, then we can open ourselves up to be entertained by other gospels that are NOT the doctrine Christ taught or His understanding of the scriptures are then distorted to whom ever is going astray in their Hearts from the Lord and His Word.God desires for us to be questioning and assertive in our challenges to others about what they preach and most of have been intimidated by those preachers because they manipulate us through fear to question them or expose them and they are combative and argue with you until you cave into them which only empowers them that they are correct in what they say making the problem more narcissistic. I have observed these personalities to show signs of demeaning individuals and and should we have an opinion that does not conform than they make sure that by the end of that conversation you are condemned for having the audacity to challenge them for the accuracy of their teachings in the first place,making it feel as if we should never question them because they speak for God. This is called psychological abuse and their grandiose personality makes you walk away defeated, guilty,and often anxious about what God feels about us. Mr.Camping is just another false teacher with good intentions perhaps but deceived by the ego he has so condemned in others. Satan used him just like he does with so many out there, perhaps just maybe for his own lack of compassion God said we are to have towards others and to love our enemies we do not condone evil/sin but we love,love,love the people. Christ came because He loves,loves, loves,us!

Harold Camping in my opinion was a fairly typical cult leader that wanted to draw attention to himself through his various prophecies.
