The fact that so many people are posting about cults and issues they have in their lives because of their association with cults shows how much abuse in religion there actually is. Just imagine how many people don't even know about this message board. I suggest something that also might be useful to people that have been subject to brainwashing and other forms of mental anguish through abuse of all sorts. For those of you that are of the Christian faith, many churches offer a program called CELEBRATE RECOVERY which as I understand it is a very good program, I think they are twelve step programs that work for just about anything, not just drug addiction and alcoholism etc. That might be something to look into.

Chaos1952, some 12-step programs are not what they appear to be; narcanon has links to scientology.
