Ammunition Against LGATs - Humor

Just saw a hilarious commercial on CNN. Someone at American Airlines must have been persuaded to attend one of these silly seminars and his take on the situation was to ~create~ a laugh-out-loud parody of a hapless participant looking for the nearest telephone to book his early flight out, making his escape on American Airlines, of course. It's a hoot with the "trust" exercise, the public humiliation, and the rah-rah trainer. Maybe one of you tech-wizards can find a way to post the thing.

Seriously, one humorous parody can undo as much as ten-fold of scholarly journalism. A few more like the above could put these bozos six feet under. One wonders why it took so long for something like this to make it to the public airwaves.

I agree. Ridicule over reason anyday when it comes to getting a point across.

This humor goes beyond LGATs to skewer pretty much anything new age, pop psych, etc. ... I got a chuckle. (Copied from www.gnu.org/fun/jokes/religions.html)

New-Age-Astral-Vibration Rap
by Steve Webber

I was having an out-of-body experience so I grounded myself and got
centered with the help of my spirit guide, then I almost astral
traveled but the phone rang and I sensed the negative vibrations so I
checked my numerology chart and almost had a primal but my energy was
blocked so I did some bioenergetics and self-parenting and had some
flower essences with oat bran ginseng muffins but my inner child wasn't
being nurtured so I had some frozen yogurt that made me hyper so I did
the relaxation response while listening to my subliminal tape but I was
feeling depersonalized so I did some polarity work, foot reflexology, a
past life regression, rebirthed myself and made an appointment for a
shiatsu, reiki, rolfing, Feldenkrais, Swedish, Japanese deep tissue
massage but I needed to energize my crystals and do some positive
imagery because my visualization techniques and affirmations made my
space feel invaded so to get empowered I got a psychic reading around
the issue of my assertiveness so I could feel my radiance and have
energy for my psychocalisthenics and my inversion swing before my
harmonic brain wave synergy session which makes me more focused for my
actualization seminar and holistic healing class and dream workshop so
I'm clear for my Gestalt/behavioral/cognitive/transpersonal/Reichian/
Jungian/Freudian/Ericksonian session but my aura is weak for my
channeling group so I'll fast till noon to recharge my chakras and I
sense my intuition is high and my cycle is focused so I'll turn on my
ion generator to open up for my neuro-linguistic programming but I
need to have my pyramid balanced before my guided synchronicity
meditation so my cranio sacral therapy aligns me for the fire-walk
after my tarot reading but I need a meaningful relationship to mirror
myself so I'll go to the Intensive Whole Life Earth Rebirth Cosmic Expo
Symposium Seminar Workshop to find someone who is real.

LOL!

New Agers and LGAT'ers should try the following exercise:

To align myself I like to drive throught the desert at night at 90+ MPH after being up for 18 hours straight. I achieve balance during this time by drinking massive amounts of highly caffinated truckstop coffee. The coffee really hightens my sense of self awareness. For a little motivation I put in a Rob Zombie or Kid Rock CD. Then reachout to my fellow night owls by scrolling through the AM dial to find a Coast to Coast AM broadcast about UFO's and Ghost Hunters. My my... "Is that a glowing orb up a head" as my tires cross over the rumble stripps....Oh no! I shout as adrenaline flows through my body....It's another truck stop sign! Luring me in for more coffee and the late night aroama of the mens bathroom...

Now if that can't do the trick for New Agers seeking self enlightenment and communion with the universe I don't know what will....

Poysnpn:

No need to use big bold text.

An LGAT is large group awareness training.

I've heard it said that humour (Aussie spelling) is an effective means of getting your message across. I heard a joke the other day that can easily be rewritten to apply to the LGAT drone...

In a hospital room a dying man is surrounded by his family and friends. The doctor turns from his charts and announces, 'This man needs a brain transplant. It's a new, experimental procedure, but it is covered by your medical insurance. However, you'll have to pay for the brain.'

The family and friends agree to the operation, but the dying man's brother asks, 'How much will it cost?'

The doctor replies, 'I assure you that everything is market value. A free-thinker's brain is $5,000 and a LGAT drone's brain is $10,000.'

The brother, his family and friends are perplexed and shocked. Shaking his head, the brother turns to the doctor and asks, 'Why is a LGAT drone's brain more expensive?'

Matter-of-factly, the doctor replies, 'It's had so little use.'

~~~ Fin ~~~
...sorry about that. bit cheesy!
